Indroduction Each class is mandatory for the weyrling to graduate to Senior Weyrling. There will be a new thread for each class and your Weyrling pair should attend each one. These are NOT Event threads so you may NOT be in another thread during class. Please be sure to post in every thread in order to graduate. Until L'yst returnes, PM J'lor with any questions. ------------------------------- 1. Bathing and Oiling Your DragonJ'lor moved into the weyrling barracks and started by kicking the cots of each of the weyrlings and pullilng them out of bed. "6 AM people out of bed, get a bath and get back here. We have work to do." he shouted. He watched as the assistants pulled the laggards out of their beds and threw them bodily into the spring at the back of the barracks. He chuckled as some of them tried to bathe with their clothes on. "Communal bathing people," he yelled. "No modesty here for you. Get in, get out, and get your breakfast. I suggest you people with long hair take the chance to chop it... you'll have an easier time, and it will grow back." "Today you start working harder than you thought possible." "Food has been provided for you and your dragon for today. Any questions? I didn't think so.... MOVE IT!" Post by Brekka and Panitath on Aug 16, 2010 11:31:07 GMT -5
Panitath awakened her during the night with her hunger. Brekka went to find more meat and the baby dragon followed her. The swirls of her eyes were red and she was extremely impatient with her rider. "I'm sorry love," she said "I didn't know."
Luckily a drudge shoved a pail of fresh meat into her hands the moment she emerged from her tiny weyr. She smiled HER weyr. Ducking back inside she let the little dragon finish off the pail while she sat there and watched.
Is there more? She stuck her head out again and another pail was shoved at her in exchange for the empty one. Once that was gone the little silver was comatose again on her couch.
Brekka lay there and looked at the beautiful hide and was amazed by the hue that had never been seen before. The dim light reflected off the silver making her almost glow in the dark.
The kick on her bed and loud commands confused her. She didn't remember falling back asleep, but the final pail was gone and her trunk was at the foot of her bed.
She jumped out of bed rather than be pulled out by the drudge coming after her. Luckily Panitath was still sleeping. She ran to the baths and being a weyrbrat had no compunction about stripping and dropping into the warm waters. She lathered and scrubbed everything as fast as she could before jumping back out and running back to her little cot. She was so afraid Panitath would wake and not see her there. She dressed quickly in her work pants and a shirt and pulling on soft boots ran to breakfast.

Post by Kellin and Apolloth on Aug 16, 2010 17:09:47 GMT -5
Upon wake-up call, Kellin had woken up with a gasply shriek. Blinking, she looked around. Other weyrlings were moving about. She hung her head over her shoulder to shoot a drowsy glance at Apolloth, who was already awake. "Good," Kellin muttered in a frogged voice, "I don't have to wake you." Her tone suggested how much of a laboring task it was.
Apolloth simply snorted.
Kellin had not too long ago completed the first of the Weyrling lessons. But with the travesty that befell Pern, Kellin course was interrupted. After much inquisition, Kellin was resently advised to retake the classes with the new Weyrlings. Such arrangement didn't please Kellin, but she didn't have much choice in the matter and didn't bother attempting an argument. She doubted anyone would listen to a lowly Weyrling, anyway.
Restarting her Weyrling lessons was all too bad, Kellin thought, trying to look on the up-side. She would be miles ahead of the rest of the class, her fellow Werylings. The first few lessons would be easy as far as knowledge. Of course, she would need to get use to the early mornings once again.
Yawning, Kellin snatched up what clothes she'd wear, and plodded, rather than ran for the baths. Almost as if the people around her didn't exist, Kellin stripped down and began to bathe. In all reality, Kellin barely registered the people around her. She was far too tired and far too irritated-- despite her attempts to convince herself-- to give a rat's ass.
Drying, Kellin dressed and began to braid her long hair down her back as she walked over to get breakfast. Taking a seat, she tied off her hair, having successfully braided her hair before taking her seat. Stuffing her face with the breakfast meal and chugging a mug of klah, Kellin waited for further orders with a dazed, unamuzed expression.

Post by L'ryn and Cerbanyth on Aug 16, 2010 19:37:41 GMT -5
L'ryn did know how many hours of sleep he had gotten when he felt a nudge at his hand. Opening his green eyes, he met with the red eyes of his dragonet. In the dark, that was a scary site to see so the boy jumped a bit, wincing as the action hurt the wound he'd gotten at Impression. It had since been taken care of but sudden movements irritated it. "Are you alright, L'rynmine?" the little blue dragon asked. "I'm fine, Cerbanyth," L'ryn replied. He scratched the dragonet's eye ridges. "Well, I'm hungry, mine," Cerbanyth told him. L'ryn had figured that was the reason his dragon had woken him up in the middle of the night. He smiled. "You're a bottomless pit," he said lovingly, getting up to find his something to eat. As soon as he opened the door, a drudge handed him a pail of meat to give to his dragon. The second he set it down for Cerbanyth, it seemed that the meat disappeared, leaving only the empty pail behind. "Don't eat so fast," L'ryn told the blue hatchling as set a second pail before him. After he'd eaten, Cerbanyth curled back up to sleep. L'ryn climbed back into his bed, falling asleep easily. What seemed like minutes - but was really hours - later, a kick made the bed jump. Opening his eyes a hair bit, he heard a familiar voice shouting orders to get up. The red head got out of bed and gathered together the clothes he had set out the night before in a place where Cerbanyth couldn't get to them if he chose to go exploring around the room while his rider slept. He had just gotten into the water when he heard the voice, which he recognized as being J'lor, the brownrider from that day at the hot springs, say something about the ones with long hair taking a second to cut it. L'ryn hadn't cut his hair in over a turn, since long before he had been searched. He decided against cutting it, thinking if it didn't get in his way while he was weaving then it wouldn't be a problem in the classes. Once bathed and out of the water, L'ryn went back to his room to dress. He'd chosen a light dark green linen tunic and leather pants. Pulling his hair back into a knoted ponytail, he headed to feed his dragon again before heading to breakfast himself. Tag Any

Pasuth yawned as she streatched out on her cot. What was with all the noise? Who was this man who said that hers had to wake up? Mentally shrugging she poked at her bondeds mind. "Alixmine there is a man here that says you along with everyone else has to wake up, so do that. Oh by the way I'm hungry again.
Alix had been having a pleasent dream when she felt a roungh kick on her bed. Shrugging it off she tried to go back to sleep. But before she could she felt the covers ripped from her bed. Groaning slightly she sits up in her bed. All of a sudden she remembers the events from last night. The hatching, her impressing, everything. Smiling she looks over the side of her bed to see her darling Pasuth looking back at her. "I'm awake dear heart, and I'll get you some food right away".
Grabbing a bucket from a drudge she kneels down to set it in front of Pasuth who immidietly starts gorging herself on the meat. Smiling again she warns, "Don't eat to fast dear ok. I'll be right back I'm going to take a bath". Happy to see Pasuth slow down she walks over to the communal bathing pool. It was the same a Healerhall so Alix was quite used to comunal bathing, but it still didn't ease her a whole lot. Thankfully at Healerhall she had learned to get there early so there weren't a lot of people in the pool at one time. Stripping down she wadded into the pool where she quickly scrubbed herself clean. When she was done she dried off, and threw on a decent outfit for the day.
Taking note of the weyrlingmasters comment she grabbed the back of her hair, fingering it slowly. Should she cut her hair? Heading out to breakfast she decided to mull over it.

Post by nerys on Aug 17, 2010 18:18:10 GMT -5
Nerys, for she was now just Nerys forevermore, awoke from her bed with a start when the shouts echoed around the chamber.
She bolted upright and looked around confused. Nerysmine, are you okay? came the worried sound of Shymorth.
Shymorth, yes. How could she have forgotten even for a second. Sliding out of her bed, she darted over to him and cradled his head in her hands.
"I'm fine, Shymorth. Just hadn't expected that wake-up call, that's all." It was still almost too hard for her to believe what had happened just yesterday.
Standing on the sands, holding Brekka's hand, things had changed for her so rapidly when the powerful voice of Shymorth had joined with her own. Nerys had never felt anything like it before. It was nothing like she'd imagined, it was so much more.
"We best hurry. I'll be right back." She told Shymorth as she darted off to the communal baths. It had taken Nerys quite a while to adjust to life in the Weyr when they'd arrived here, but she was better when it came to the baths now.
She scrubbed as quickly as possible, all the while hearing Shymorth's voice in her mind and his hunger growing. 'I'm coming, my Shymorth,' she thought and was surprised when he answered her. This was going to take some getting used to. All of this.
When she returned to his side, her hair gleamed with droplets of water. She saw some of the other females doing as the weyrlingmaster asked and taking a knife to their hair. She blinked. Her hair had always been a sign of her status. She would never have dreamed of cutting it before now. Before Shymorth.
Hair will grow back. I will love you no matter what.
Nerys grinned and stroked his head. "Alright, I'll do it." Moving over to one of the others, she borrowed a knife. Then taking a deep breath, Nerys sheared her hair off to the nape of her neck. Holding the locks in her hand, she stared down at them and felt tears almost well up in her eyes.
Why are you sad mine? Are you hurt?
"No," she told him as she walked back to him. "No. I'm not. It's just a silly thing. But it doesn't matter. You are what's important." Nerys heard his plea for food and together the pair hurried off to find him some meats for his breakfast before Shymorth's hunger overtook him.

Post by O'rion and Serenith on Aug 17, 2010 19:01:15 GMT -5
Up. No, he didn’t want to. You can’t make me.
Up. I’m hungry. Hungry? I’m hungry too, hungry, yes. Food.
O’rion! UP Came the forceful voice, and O’rion jumped and sat up. He looked groggily around and then to his dragon. Oh. That’s right. Oskarion was no longer Oskarion, nor was he Oskar. He was now O’rion, and he was a Bronzerider. With a small smile, O’rion stretched languidly before throwing back the covers. I’m hungry. Came the Bronze’s voice in his head, and O’rion looked over at Serenith before grinning.
“Of course you are, but you’re not starving. Lemme get dressed and then we can see what needs to be done for your food.” O’rion said, nodding. The Bronze huffed but did not say anything toward his rider. He knew O’rion would give him food, he trusted O’rion with more than just his life. O’rion pulled off his pajama pants before even checking to see if his trunk filled with is clothes was there. Luckily, it was, which would have been trouble for the guy, but he pulled out his clothes with little trouble and set them on the bed before petting Serenith on his bronze head.
He had woken up not a moment too soon, he realized, for only a moment later the Weyrlingmaster barged into the barracks proclaiming it was 6 AM and they were to be up and out already. “Dragon, I shall be back in a jiffy. Need to get to washing before there’s a whole stampede.” O’rion told his dragon before hurrying to the showers. Serenith rumbled with hunger and slight anger. All he’d said was that he was changing, not full on bathing. Oh, a bath sounded good… and he was beginning to itch. I itch. And I’m still hungry.
O’rion hurried with the shower and exited just as a mass of the Weyrlings entered. He quickly dried, accustomed to bathing with more than one sex per Traders rules, but still unaccustomed to being rushed, and pulled on his clothes. Serenith seemed to sigh a sigh of relief as they headed outdoors. What surprised O’rion was the fact that people had finished before him. You take too long. Serenith grumbled, and I’m still hungry.
“Look, Dragon, food.” O’rion said, pointing to the pail of meat a drudge offered him. Serenith immediately cheered up and rushed brashly away from O’rion to dig his head into the food. “Got your food? Good, I’m going to eat.” But a drudge had beat him to it and had pushed a plate full of food into his hands. O’rion looked at the drudge funny, but Serenith declared forcibly in his mind, You are a Bronzerider. as if that meant anything as to why the drudge treated him so. O’rion started to spoon his food into his mouth even as he watched the other weyrlings get ready. When a drudge asked if he wanted to go with the other weyrlings, O’rion shook his head no.
With a mouth almost devoid of food, he said, “I would much rather stay with my Bronze.”

Post by L'dron and Heroth on Aug 17, 2010 20:15:19 GMT -5
L’dron had been awake long before Brownrider J’lor had barged through the weryling barracks, having been used to waking before dawn for many turns to get out to sea for the best possible catch. Rather than be rudely awakened, he was rudely jarred out of a peaceful dip in the bathing pool while Heroth tentatively dipped a foot or tail-tip in one at a time.
“Ldronmine… this water is too deep. Why don’t we go somewhere where I can enjoy the water? Or you can get me food!” the small bronze stated, bored with L’dron’s current activities.
”Heroth, dear, I promise I’ll be done momentarily. Look, the others are just now getting up! At least I’ve been awake for us to do things.” L’dron reasoned to him evenly. However, when the first 6am-riser was thrown into the bathing pool unceremoniously, both L’dron and Heroth decided it was time to leave. Grabbing the first towel he saw he quickly dried then wrapped it around his waist in an attempt to remain somewhat discrete. “Come on, Heroth. Food time.” The next thing L’dron felt was a wave of joy flooding his mind at the mention of breakfast.
“Will it be the meat like last time?”
”Anything you want, Heroth.”
The young bronze bounded ahead to their small weyr in joy. Laughing, his rider followed, quickly changing into leather boots, light pants, and a short-sleeved shirt- the work for the day ahead was guaranteed to be long, and L’dron by no means wanted to be distracted or discomforted by clothes that were too warm or in the way. There was a soft grunt heard as those thoughts crossed his mind. “Mine, these clothes of yours are complicated. I’m happy dragons don’t need things that silly…but I do itch.” ”I’ll get that sorted out shortly, Heroth. I promise.
Exiting their weyr and heading towards breakfast, L’dron noticed Oskarion- no, O’rion, eating while his Serenith gobbled down a pail of meat. Deciding it would be a treat to share breakfast with his friend, he headed over, met on his way there by two drudges: one handing him a plate of steaming fresh food, and another with a bucket of meat for Heroth. The second drudge followed them until the pair reached O’rion. Waving the young girl off, she set the pail down and ran back to the kitchens for her next assignment while L’dron sat down beside Heroth, facing O’rion and began to eat.
“Quite the ceremonious start to the day, huh? How did the two of you sleep?” L’dron asked O’rion between mouthfuls of egg and tuber, eyes jumping between hatchlings. The only difference between the two brothers seemed to be that Serenith had silvery-markings on his forelegs, while Heroth had deeper bronze neck ridges instead. It didn’t matter though- they were both gorgeous.

He walked around and watched as the various weyrlings reacted differently to their first morning as a dragonrider. He noted those who took his advice about their hair and those who didn’t. At least the ones who didn’t were tying it out of their way as a compromise. At this point in time that was fine. “Alright weyrlings” he called. “Lets assemble in the class room” and with that he turned and lead them toward the room close to the barracks entrance. Once the students had settled into their provided seats and the dragons into the couches where they could be near their riders he began. “Our first item is dragon anatomy.” He started. “Each of you must learn this vital information and commit it to your memory. These are basic facts about your dragon and how they function. (OOC: J’lor provides information located HERE please read and then confirm in your post OOC that you have read it)Once he was finished with that portion of his lecture he smiled. “Ok now for the work. “Outside, we’re going to the lake.” “Tonuth will meet us there.” Glad to hear that I’m getting a bath today. He chuckled as he walked out into the sunshine and all the babies struggled after him. Post by Kellin and Apolloth on Aug 19, 2010 19:53:37 GMT -5
Before Kellin had exited the hall, Apolloth flew back from the Feeding Ground. Unlike the small hatchlings in their midst, Apolloth was far too big to be satisfied by the drudges' pales of meat. Relaying his return, Apolloth waited outside the classroom for her return. Apolloth eyed the Wingsecond thoughtfully as he lead the trail of Weyrlings and their dragon's into the classroom. Apolloth was unfamiliar with the rider as he was with most weyrpeople not out of Telgar Weyr.
Kellin had been the first of the weyrlings to get back from their breakfasts. So with the Wingsecond leading the way, Kelling entered the classroom with Apolloth close behind. It had been a tight fit, but Apolloth managed to lie down comfotabled without pushing something over. Kellin took first pick of seats and sat down in the far back corner of the room, to allow herself to be near her dragon and not impair the space around. She had already had this lesson and found it more important for the others to have seats in the front of the classroom.
As the others filed in, she took note of each weyrlings appearance and their little dragons. Many made glances toward Kellin and her beast of a dragon. Kellin imagined their confusion as they entered. For a moment she considered that maybe they would pressume her to be an assistant. Kellin smiled to herself at the thought.
When the lecture began, Kellin half-paid attention. She'd pick out points, as they started, and depicted them a known or forgotten. Those points she already new, she let herself drown out with distractions and those she hadn't remembered, she listened, for the most part.
(OOC: I have completely read said article.)
When the long lecture came to a fold, Kellin blinked drowsily. She'd done her best to keep awake, but she hadn't gotten much sleep in the last night and she wasn't use to waking so early in the morning. Rubbing her eyes, she got up, along with the rest of the class and followed the Weyrsecond once again like wherry-lings to their motherwherry. (I really don't know the maternal habits of wherries. I'm just trying to make a funny.)
At the sudden exposure to light, Kellin's eyes squinted shut. Wincing, Kellin cast a shadow over her eyes with her hand. Had the lecture really been that long? Kellin asked herself.
You dosed off at one point, Apolloth quickly added his two sense.
Kellin glared up at her dragon, although she thought the effect would have been lost with her face contarted agianst the sunlight. At least, the dragon would be able to sense her emotion. Looking back ahead of herself, Kellin talked, not caring who was listening, "You've been rather quiet this morning."
Kellin heard a grunt from behind her, she, of course, knew it was produced by Apolloth. Rather than seeing, Kellin sensed Apolloth move his head about. Kellin instantly understood that it was the abundance of hatchlings that kept him silent. Kellin knew it wrong to smile at such a thing, but her lips tugged at her cheeks, none-the-less.

Post by Ceinwen and Drusillith on Aug 20, 2010 2:32:09 GMT -5
Ceinwen had awakened an hour before J’lor came in to rouse the others. She’d washed, eaten and collected a few buckets of meat for Drusillith and sat watching her sleep as she plaited her hair when J’lor entered and began the process of getting the others up and about. Once the barracks filled with the sounds of people and dragons bustling about Drusillith at last began to rouse from her beauty sleep. ‘Why is there so much noise,’ she asked in a sleepy irritated tone. ‘It is time to rise, my darling,’ Ceinwen said to her. ’You must eat and then we are to have our first lesson.’‘Lesson,’ she said indignantly. She did not add to her comment, but Ceinwen could sense her irritation and feeling that it was unnecessary. Dru felt she was fully capable of teaching Ceinwen anything she needed to know. Ceinwen was surprised and amused by her young dragon’s over confidence and air of superiority. ‘I am very interested in what they have to teach,’ she said calmly and authoritatively. ‘This is not optional, Drusillith. You will eat and WE will be going to our lesson.’Drusillith gave a huff in acquiescence and then slowly looked over at the meat. ‘I suppose I am hungry…’ Ceinwen smirked and pushed a pail toward her and watched as she devoured it. By the time she’d finished off her third, they were ready to make their way to the classroom. Ceinwen entered with Drusillith close beside. Once she located her place, Dru took to her couch as Ceinwen listed attentively to J’lor’s lecture. The information was quite extensive and after he finished relaying it, Ceinwen hoped she would be capable of retaining it all. ‘I am happy to fill I any gaps, should you need it.’ ‘Thank you, dear heart.’They followed along from the classroom and made their way down to the lake. Ceinwen could feel Drusillith’s mood perk up once the sun shone down on her gleaming hide. It was a beautiful day and both ladies were happy to be out in the fresh morning air. Post by R'gant and Xanith on Aug 20, 2010 17:10:40 GMT -5
The time had swept by easily and R'gant had molded into his role as wingsecond of the wingleader's wing. With so few dragon riders amongst them he had yet to really sift through the riders he believed had potential. He had spoken to a few and had organized one full meeting with those he wished to be beneath R'enh's direct leadership. It looked like he would be training most of them rather than reviewing the basics, but that was fine with him. He was looking forward to the job.
Training with the riders had taken a backseat when Xanith urged him to pursue Ceinwen as a possible candidate. He had been taken aback at first, but after further contemplation he had seen how Xanith saw. She definitely had potential. She was calm in the face of chaos, thoughtful and confident. She would make a great dragonrider---and it didn't hurt that he harbored a secret affection toward her. He had yet to bring this to her attention being busy with the riders, but he hoped that with her candiacacy looming before her she would seek him out for advice. Perhaps, he prayed, it would give them time to get to know each other.
He had stood back amongst the small throng of riders at the hatching. While the other candidates stood on the sands awaiting impression, his eyes had been on one person only---Ceinwen. His heart had throbbed violently in his chest as he watched her. Would she impress? Would the match suit her or surprise them both? He did not know her very well, but had you asked him before the hatching which dragon she deserved he would have said, within hesitation, gold. Perhaps he wished this for her for selfish reasons. He, a bronze rider, could only want the best for his dragon Xanith. To ride a gold, to be named junior weyrleader...yes, he wished for a gold for her more than anything.
And he got his wish. Xanith crooned and pawed around on his perch, his aging eyes swirling with happiness at Ceinwen's impression. He knew R'gant was pleased and, because he was content, so he would be as well.
They had slept well that night.
R'gant wandered around the lake, a long piece of parchment in his hands with the names of the riders, their next training schedule and the list of new werylings. There was so much to be done. Thankfully there was J'lor to help lighten the load. R'gant took a seat near a bush on a large boulder a short distance from the lake. He was well hidden from the werylings as they made their way to the lake for their first lesson. Parchment in his lap, he craned his neck to get a better look at them all. They all looked rather excited, save a young girl who looked like she'd just awaken from a nap. He could remember those days. Hour long lectures and even longer lessons for hand on experiences, he had been exhausted and sore for days, but Xanith's pleasure made it all worth it.
He would watch them for a moment in the shadows before he got back to work, that was if no one spotted him first.

Post by J'lor and Tonuth on Aug 21, 2010 19:43:08 GMT -5
As the young dragonets trooped behind him toward the lake his big brown lifemate landed nearby and folded his wings on his back before walking with them and watching the little ones.
One little green fell and fouled her wing and her rider was distressed. Tonuth crooned encouragement. Come little one, this is worth the trip. Keep your wings on your back when you are walking on ground. Soon you will fly the skies, and the ground will seem but a memory.
J'lor looked back over his shoulder to see the brown nosing the baby dragon back onto her feet with her riders help. When she finally stood back up she carefully furled her wings out of the way before she tried to walk any further. "Thats it!" encouraged Tonuth.
As they got to the water, Tonuth walked into the water and encouraged the little ones to follow him.
One of the assistants brought sweetsand and he grabbed a handfull. "You all know what this is." he said. "Scrub your dragon" and he began on the flank of the big brown. He knew it would take much longer to properly wash Tonuth and he promised they'd come back and finish the job right a bit later.
"I know Jlormine" the amused dragon said. "it feels good" he said twitching his hide.
Once it looked like they were almost done he said "Ok as soon as you're done go rinse." and Tonuth turned out into the deeper water and rinsed the suds by submerging and then coming back to shore.
He used a drying cloth on one of the spots that Tonuth told him itched and as some skin flaked he patted the area dry. "For small areas you can use your hand to oil" and he demonstrated. "For larger ones, rags or a paddle will work better. Listen to your dragon, they will tell you where they itch." then he continued. "Every so often, you will need to oil the whole dragon. As they get larger sometimes you may have some help from candidates or weyrbrats but the responsibility for your dragons care falls on YOU alone."

OOC (lecture read)
Done with the lecture Alix and Pasuth walked out of the classroom, into the bright sun. Wincing at the brightness Alix walks on. Feeling Pasuth nudge her Alix looks down. "What's wrong dear heart"
"I itch."
Smiling she said, "Don't worry I'll give yo a bath soon look were almost there" Walking on she looks toward the lake when she hears a cry behind her. Whirling around she see's Pasuth on the ground her wing fouled. Worrying she dropped to her knees craddling the mossy green head. "Are you ok Pasuth"
Alix watched as the Weyrlingmaster's brown helped nose Pasuth up while she craddled her head. Checking her wing's the mossy green said, "Thank you Tonuth. I am ok Mine."
Relived Alix and her dragon continued to walk the lake. When they got close to the edge, Alix watched as Pasuth ran into the water, happily splashing. Grabbing one of the brushes and a handful of sweetsand she dipped it in the water to lather it up. Rubbing it on Pasuth she got a happy croon in reply. Gently scrubbing what was left of the dry egg goo from yesterday, she rinsed Pasuth off, her mossy hide giving off a glossy shine from the water.
Grabbing a rag she dipped it in the oil, ringing off any excess. Taking precautions Alix decided to oil all of Pasuth's hide, making sure to get all of the beautiful green hide. Sitting back she watches as Pasuth goes to lay down in the sun.

OOC: Lecture read.
Tanemoth almost tripped his rider as he ran joyfully out of the lesson room. He had disliked being cooped up inside, and he was eager to get moving again. Oh L'can, isn't the sun nice? I wonder where they are taking us? The Crimson babbled cheerfully as he walked besides his rider. Tanemoth wanted to move quickly, and he stumbled several times. Noticing the advice the green received, Tanemoth tucked his own wings tight against his back.
They reached the lake and Tanemoth crooned as he splashed into the water. Nice! It feels...um... L'can grinned and picked up a handful of sweetsand. Wet? he provided as he began to scrub his dragon's bright red hide. Tanemoth was like a child, always learning new things. It was an exhausting but fun experience to be bonded to a newborn dragon.
Go rinse now! he told Tanemoth when he was done scrubbing. The Crimson needed no encouragement to go out into the water and splash around until the soap was gone. He ran back to his rider, getting L'can wet in the process. They walked back to shore together, and L'can began to oil his dragon until the red hide shined.
