Ceinwen had to learn how to butcher very quickly in order to keep up with Dru’s demands for food. Never in her life had Ceinwen seen anything consume as much food as her little golden queen. Not only that, but she was certain that she had grown bigger over night. Ceinwen knew that she would one day out grow all the others of her clutch, but she could not help but wish for her to stay small, for at least a little while.
Right now, Drusillith had found a nice flat rock near the lake that had warmed to perfection in the sun and had curled up for a nice nap while the sun beat down on her. Ceinwen sat a short distance away watching over her in quite reflection. Periodically she would glance around the bowl, still amazed as she watched dragons moving about from weyr to sky to pens to lake. She could not say that she had become accustomed to life in the Weyr. The culture of the people was something she was very unfamiliar with and was still amazed at times at level of openness with which everyone seemed to live. Her modest upbringing made it all seem… Well, she wasn’t really certain.
It was a nice day, few clouds in the sky. Ceinwen was enjoying her personal time, reviewing some of her studies and just enjoying the afternoon.

E'dwyn finished up the last bit of oiling his Brown's hide. Yzarth had reminded him that Radanth was rising in a few days and he would rise to chase her. "You sure you want to do this, Yzarth?" he asked, putting away the oil and rags. "Of course, why would I not?" came the replied, accompanied by a snort that blew E'dwyn's hair around a bit. "Cause you might not catch her," E'dwyn reminded him.
"I'll fly as best I can, mine," Yzarth replied as his rider got the riding straps to put back on him. "That's all one can ask for," E'dwyn told him before climbing on his back. yzarth spread his wings and glided down to the pens where the herdbeast were kept. If he was to rise to catch Radanth, he needed to blood his kill. Climbing off the brown's back, he watched as Yzarth flew over the pens, searching for the animal he would take. Looking around, E'dwyn spotted a familiar face. His sister.
He made his way over too where she stood, her gold laying on a rock nearby. "Beautiful queen, Ceiny," he said. "You impressed well."

Ceinwen paused in her reading, mid-sentence. She heard a man's voice speaking. There had been a lot of activity in the bowl, so she had been blocking out the ambient noise as she worked. But this particular voice stuck out. Not just the familiarity in the tone, but the word he had used - Ceiny. No one had ever called her that except for...
"Edy!" She squealed in delight and gave a little hop, before rushing over and jumping at him as she wrapped her arms around his neck in a big hug. Ceinwen squeezed him tightly, not wanting to let go. It had been ages since she had seen her brother. He was her childhood idol and had been devastated the day the dragon riders came in Search and took him away.
Feeling the strong emotions coming from Ceinwen, Drusillith lifted her head and looked to see what was causing her rider to feel such elation.
Still hugging him, she mumbled against the side of his cheek, "I have missed you, brother." Then gave his cheek a peck and squeezed him again, a gigantic grin on her face.

"Edy!"
E'dwyn had to laugh when his sister squealed his name and jumped up to hug his neck. "I missed you, brother," she said. They hadn't seen each other in years, since he had been searched. "I missed you too, sis," he replied, returning the hug she gave him. His sister's gold looked up at them, seeming to sense how happy her's had become.
"She's beautiful, Cein," he said, looking over at the little gold. Well, little for a gold anyway. Soon enough she would dwarf his Yzarth. Speaking of Yzarth, a bugle for him called E'dwun's attention back to where he was blooding another herdbeest. "I'm afraid I can't stay long, Ceiny," he told her, knowing that once Yzarth took to the skies, he would be overcome by the dragonlust. He had to be in the flight room before that happened.

It felt so wonderful to be held by a member of her family. After the horrible events that struck their planet, she never dared to dream that she would be able to do such a thing again. It was far to painful to hold onto that hope. Now, in her loving brother's arms she was disarmed by their familial bond and the tears began to well up in her eyes.
Drusillith, feeling the distress began to worry and stirred from her sleep and started to move in their direction. 'Mine? Are you alright?'
"She's beautiful, Cein,"
Ceinwen looked up at her brother and grinned as she wiped away a tear that began to tail down her cheek. 'Yes, dear heart.' Ceinwen reassured her by projecting her love for both Dru and Edy through their link. 'This is my brother. I thought I had lost him, but here he is healthy and he has a lifemate of his own.' Ceinwen hoped that Drusillith would understand. "Thank you, Edy... I am still in shock. Had things happened as they were planned I would have been married off to Corbyn by now..." Ceinwen sneered in mock disgust at her brother. She had never really cared much for Corbyn. He had been far too serious and haughty for her tastes. When their wedding had to be postponed due to an illness he had contracted, Ceinwen could not have been more relieved. "Things are so different now. And life in the Weyr is so..." she was at a loss of what to say.
A bugle came from her brother's dragon and then he said he would soon have to leave. She suddenly felt a pang of worry. Ceinwen didn't want him to go. They had only just seen each other for the first time in years. "Will I see you again soon?"
