Ceinwen scoured the side of the mountain for the herbs that Master Burran had sent her in search of. It was a chilly day in High Reaches. The wind was blowing in frigid gusts against her back as she searched. Her hair whipping wildly around the sides of her face while she plucked, pruned and pried her prizes from the ground.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake violently, throwing her body to the ground. She struggled to hold on as the earth rolled beneath her for what felt like a candlemark. Her heart was pounding in her chest as the world around her returned to its usual stillness, but it seemed to be blanketed in an eerie silence. Picking herself up, she looked around nervously. She was miles from the hold and could not help but feel alone and full of trepidation.
Off in the distance she caught sight of a blue dragon and it’s rider soaring through the skies. She raised her arms in the air and waived them over her head in hopes of gaining their attentions. Then in an instant, the mountain behind them erupted in a plume of red hot molten earth and ash. Ceinwen screamed in horror as she watched the dragon and his rider get enveloped in the colossal volcanic blast.
