m10 d25 Chloe didn't bother going back to her weyr though she pass by. She couldn't hear any movement so she figured he'd gone to the tannery which should give her the chance to get completely clean. She dropped her clothing in a pile and then submerged herself to her chin in the heated water. After a few moments of soaking she rose to grab the sweetsand and lathered everything including her hair. Dunking below the surface again she rose near the side of the pool and rested her head closing her eyes. As she lay there she heard a familliar pop and chirp as Dancer arrived in the steamy room. He chattered at her and she raised a lazy hand to caress his head and rub the small eye ridges. He sent her contented images of fishing down near the Tannery, he liked to follow Tobias around when Chloe was busy. She got a few images of the big man too, hat shading his face as he worked the hides. She smiled and hoped more than she could say that he would be able to handle this. Tag Any

As the Weyr began to settle down from the last green flight, Eralynn decided that it was safe to let her dear Liirith take to the skies and fly off her frustration about not being the center of the male dragons' attention. The emerald beauty needed the time to herself at the moment...it had been much too long since the last time she had risen, thanks to their tragic separation months ago and being left to fend for themselves for an unhealthy length of time. Eralynn could tell that Liirith was starting to get impatient...perhaps it was a sign that the green was finally reaching normal health, and would rise again soon.
If so, Era would be relieved...just to know that their lives had fallen back into the normal routine.
A deep sigh escaped her lips as she walked into the hot springs. While Liirith had her time, Era planned on relaxing a bit for herself. However, she was pleasantly surprised to find a familiar face from Benden...Chloe. Her surprised look quickly melted from the older woman's face, and a warm smile replaced it. Era remembered all those years ago when the other had been nothing but a weryling, going through all the drills and routines until the pair finally mastered everything. Chloe and her Alorath had become quite the pair...some of Benden's best. Thank the Egg that they were both doing fine...
Then Era's gaze saw the other woman's swollen belly...something Era had always dearly wanted for herself...
Quietly, Eralynn announced herself to Chloe, not sure if the other woman would even remember her. "Greenrider Chloe...? Is that you?"

Tobias had worked off as much steam at the Tannery as he could. Yet, through it all he could not concentrate. His thoughts had focused solely on Chloe, the baby, and Alorath's Flight.
"Shards," he muttered, when the tool he'd been using slipped and sliced his palm. He hadn't made such a careless mistake as that in years. A journeyman who'd been working nearby looked over and said, "That looks deep. You should get that looked at. We'll finish up here."
That was not what Tobias had wanted to hear. He didn't want to go back yet. Didn't want to know what had happened, to face the consequences of Alorath's Flight. Yet, he knew he had no choice now.
After making his way back to the Weyr and getting his hand taken care of, Tobias found himself standing outside the infirmary gazing up at their weyr. Was she there? Was she still in the Flight room? He had to suppress the urge to ball his fists at that thought, an action that hurt the cut on his hand.
Suddenly Beauty popped into the air beside him, chittering away like a happy lark. She brought a smile to Tobias' face with her antics. Then, she flashed images of her and Dancer playing, and one of Chloe sinking into the pools of the Hotsprings. Was that where she was now?
Before he thought much about it, Tobias' feet had led him to the cavernous opening. He could already feel the heat from the springs. This was foolish. She wouldn't be here and even if she was, what did he want to say to her now. Tobias saw her they way she had looked last night, when he leaned over and kissed the protruding belly that carried his babe. Well, that thought alone propelled him forward. He had to know if she and the Babe were alright after the Flight. Chloe had explained how...hard such things could get.
As his footfalls echoed in the nearly empty room, his eyes took a moment to adjust to the lighting. That was when he saw her and another rider. Living in the Weyr all these months Tobias had learned to adjust to some of the ways, though he still tried hard not to look at another woman's body, though he'd learned that they were much more casual about things.
"Chloe," he said, "Are you well? I just need to know that. I can come back if..." his glance indicated Eralynn. "If you need some time."

A sigh impinged on her solitary calming ritual as she tried to cleanse her body and mind.
"Greenrider Chloe...? Is that you?"
She opened her eyes and saw the other woman and a smile lit her face “Era?” she said. “I heard you were here.”
She didn’t know how they’d missed each other, the Weyr wasn’t all that big but she had been keeping to getting Alorath healthy and keeping to her own weyr.
“How are you and Liirith doing?” she started.
Over the woman’s shoulder she saw the face she most wanted to see. His eyes said so much about what he was feeling and she could see the concern on his face as he tried to avoid looking at Era.
"Chloe," he said, "Are you well? I just need to know that. I can come back if..." his glance indicated Eralynn. "If you need some time."
“No Tobias” she said as sweetly as she could, holding up her hand to keep him from going. Her eyes searched his face. “This is Eralynn, we knew one another at Benden. Era…” her eyes turned to the green rider. “This is Tobias.” Her eyes caressed his face. “He is the father of my child.”
She smiled and rose from the water, it sluiced over her as she stepped up out of the water. She pulled a drying cloth and as she approached him the baby turned in her womb ripples across her belly and a foot outlined it self. She looked down with surprise and then back at Tobias.
“We’re fine.” She said with a grin as she reached him. She took his hand and placed it on her belly. “See?” her eyes popped open with the next kick.

Chloe remembered her!
A deep smile spread across Eralynn's face as the other woman greeted her by name.
"Era? I heard you were here. How are you and Liirith doing?
"These past few months have done us well. Liirith is now back to her two-toned green hide... thank The Egg. And my arm can now carry as much firestone as I ever used to." she replied, happy to finally see a familiar face. She then stuck her forearm out to demonstrate how like-new it was, proud of her progress.
"Your Alorath seems to be doing quite well! And look at you!" she continued, gesturing to Chloe's swollen belly. "I am speechless...Congratulations on the little one to be!"
Then the sound of another person's footfalls caught Era's attention, and she looked up just in time to see an unfamiliar man walk into the cavern. She had just been about to disrobe, yet decided it would be best for a first impression be made while clothed.
However, the first words out of his mouth told Era who it was exactly, along with the way he looked at his pregnant weyrmate. The poor soul, having to go through a Flight like that. Eralynn backed away slightly as the couple exchanged greetings, never wanting to be one to intrude upon lovers.
Then Chloe made the introductions. “No Tobias. This is Eralynn, we knew one another at Benden. Era…This is Tobias. He is the father of my child.”
Smiling, Eralynn inclined her head towards the Tanner. "Congratulations, on both your unborn child and your new family. It's a pleasure to meet you Tobias."
The couple then began to be quite intimate, and Eralynn decided to step out before intruding any further. She could always have Liirith come pick her up and they could make a trip to the ocean together to blow off some steam. Stepping away, she bid her leave. "You two make a beautiful couple. I'll see the both of you around the Weyr."
**Liirith-dear, would you come get me from the hotsprings? Maybe we can pay the ocean a nice little visit.**
Yes Eramine. These male dragons are boring me anyway.
Era then quietly made her way out to the Weyrbowl, where she met Liirith and they both took to the skies to relax together for the rest of the day.
End Eralynn

Tobias felt first a wave of relief wash over him when he saw and heard that Chloe and the babe were well. He found his eyes drifting over her body, unable to stop himself.
He did, manage to pull his gaze from her when Chloe introduced Era. "Nice to meet you," he told her and thanked her for her kind words.
Then Chloe rose and Tobias quickly lost his train of thought. Beads of sweat popped out on his forehead. There was so much he needed to deal with, yet his body didn't care where his heart and mind where. It reacted almost instantly to the sight of her.
“We’re fine.” She said with a grin as she reached him. She took his hand and placed it on her belly. “See?”
He caught his breath and looked at her with wonder on his face. His child had just kicked. All was well...almost. An image of Chloe's form with a shadow of another seemed to creep up into his mind. Tobias' hand relaxed even as his eyes dimmed and he looked away.
Closing his eyes he hoped for strength. When he looked back to her, his voice was hoarse and his eyes uncertain, "Who?" he asked, not sure he really wanted to know, but knowing he would never be satisfied until he knew everything. Shards, he loved her, but Tobias had never imagined having to share the woman he loved with anyone. How was he going to deal with this?
He reached a hand up and pushed it through his hair in agitation and frustration. "Chloe...I..." he sighed and looked around the cavern, "I don't know how to handle this," he told her when he finally met her eyes again.

She shot Era a greatful smile when she so elegantly excused herself. Then she saw his eyes darken and pull away from her and she tried to put aside the hurt she felt. He was so concerned and then that wall came down. They’d talked endlessly about this very moment in time.
"Who?"
There was nothing for it but to tell him straight out. Anyone else in the Weyr would know who’d won her flight and could provide the information he was asking for.
“Blue Woreth caught Alorath.” She said in a small voice. She didn’t mention the riders name. She didn’t want to pour salt into the wound.
“Tobias,” she said putting her hand on his arm.
"Chloe...I..." he sighed and looked around the cavern, "I don't know how to handle this,"
“Neither do I,” she said completely serious. “That’s why I came here… to try and wash it all away.” Her nostrils flared and she bit her bottom lip.
“Your child is safe Tobias, and there is one thing that I have given you that no one else can ever touch.” He looked into her eyes,
“My heart.” She whispered, “no one else can ever make me feel what you have.” To her it was simple but she knew he was older and hold bred their morals were different.
“I love _you_ Tobias,” she said “only you.”

"My heart.” She whispered, “no one else can ever make me feel what you have.” To her it was simple but she knew he was older and hold bred their morals were different.
He swallowed passed the massive lump that had formed in his throat, blinking against the moisture he felt in his eyes. This was so much harder than he had thought it would be.
“I love _you_ Tobias,” she said “only you.”
"I don't want to share you," he said, though his voice was a bit hoarse. He reached a hand up and caressed her cheek with his calloused thumb. "I love you, also," he told her, his throat seeming to close around him, "but I cannot stand to think of another...man...touching you."
Deep inside he knew what the true problem was. She said she loved him now, but after she joined with so many others over time...all because of the Flights, would her view of him change? He would never compare to what they were to her or could be to her. Would she someday choose the carefree life of the Weyr over him? It had to be tempting to her.
"I want this, between us, to work, but I cannot offer you the same things that the others do." **Freedom** he thought. He wanted to bind her to himself, yet her life had always been one of freedom before him. Would she resent him for that? Tag Chloe

"I don't want to share you,"
She caught her breath and stepped back from his touch. What he was saying was impossible. Surely he knew that.
"I love you, also," he told her, his throat seeming to close around him, "but I cannot stand to think of another...man...touching you."
“I’m sorry Tobias.” She said with a catch in her throat. “You know I do not seek them out. They come because of Alorath.”
“A greenrider rarely has the luxury of choice.” She said as she bent her ungainly form sideways to try and retrieve her clothing from the side of the pool. She could no longer climb around as easily as she had been able to in the past. Tears came unbidden to her eyes.
"I want this, between us, to work, but I cannot offer you the same things that the others do."
Her head swiveled back around to look at him. “They seek only to slake their dragon’s lust on my body, they offer me nothing more than that.” She sat on the edge of the nearby bench finally snagging her clean dress with her foot and pulling it toward her. She stood and held it in front of her. Inside her stomach roiled she had foolishly hoped he would be able to handle the needs of the lifemate. “Believe me if it could be with you instead… I would.” She whispered.
I love you Chloemine was the sleepy thought that came to her along with the knowledge that her beautiful green had her neck entwined with her chosen mate as they sunned upon the heights. **and I love you too!** she affirmed with her whole heart.
She had never thought to have anyone take as much of her love as her lifemate. Her eyes burned with her longing and her fear as he held a piece of her she no longer controlled. Her heart was not so much split, she knew she still loved her beautiful green girl as much as she ever had. But if her heart were a house it had somehow grown a new room that belonged only to the man standing in front of her. Her womb bucked with another kick and she knew soon there would be another addition as well.
“I think your son is playing Waterball.” She smiled as she looked down and caressed the life within her.

He lowered his head when she pulled away. His heart ached inside. He had _never_ cared for anyone the way he cared about her.
He watched as she tried to gather her clothing. She didn't ask his help and he suddenly felt cold inside. His heart felt like a knife had thrust into the very center.
"Chloe," his voice was hoarse and ragged, almost as though he could barely force the words from his lips.
He moved forward, dropping down onto his knee, tears rimming the corners of his yes. He grabbed her hands and said past the lump he felt, "I could never blame you, sweet, sweet Chloe. It is me who falls short of your expectations. I am a flesh and blood man. No matter what I tell myself, I do not like sharing what I think is mine. Yet, you deserve more than that. You are not some _thing_ to own or possess. I," his voice broke and he looked away at the sheer magnitude of the emotion he felt.
"My life would be meaningless without you," he murmured, looking back towards her, unable to hide the tears that slipped from his eyes. "I may not _want_ to share you, for to me you are like the air I breathe, but if that is the way I can have you..." he paused, "if you still want someone like me, that is."
His hand reached over her stomach, though he didn't place it there, though he dearly wished to. "If my short short-sightedness has failed you, I will understand." His heart seemed to clench in his chest. It might kill him, but he would do whatever she wished of him. He loved her. She had given him something he had never felt before in all his life. For that love, he would do anything, even if it meant setting her free from his craft-bred thoughts and ways.
