150 turns after the end of Thread, Pern struggles against the growing popularity of a drug called 'Dust' and the violence that's followed its creation. Crime is an increasing problem, one combated by the recently formed Dragon-Watch. But catching criminals is only so useful without a place to put them.
That's where Warden's Weyr comes in. Pern's first major prison, it's a hard, unpleasant place to live, for prisoners and jailers alike. The Warden, V'tya, is a hard man with demons of his own. His dragon, Yusuth, embodies apathy. The Weyrwoman, Leshta, rides Semith, a gold with only one good wing and an oddly childlike mind. They were sent to Warden's Weyr because everyone knew Semith would never Rise. Everyone knew it, until the day Semith began to shine, and took off across the beaches, Running like a wher. She was caught by blue Mordanth, elevating blue rider T'di to the position of Weyrleader.
Many thought it would end there. What could come of a crippled gold and and a blue? But Semith has managed, despite all expectations, to lay a clutch. Eggs are hardening on the sands, eggs which, with a shortage of available candidates, prisoners will be permitted to stand for. Times on Pern are changing. According to many, they're changing for the worse.
We Offer
-New (as yet unrevealed) colors.
-A chance to play characters on either side of the law.
-Dragons that do not impress based on sexuality.
-Dragons that don't choose solely those who are mentally and physically sound.
-Lots of open leadership roles, for dragonriders of any color and non-dragonriders as well.
-A setting ripe for conflict.
-Insta-Weyrlings available. We've got a group of twelve Weyrlings halfway through their training. App the rider, and we'll create a dragon to match.
-Tired of playing teens? Our hatchlings impress people up to the age of thirty-four.
-Be part of a new story unfolding. Warden's Weyr is only a few turns old, IC. Everything is unwinding in the present, not in the past.
Current Events
-A bluerider as Weyrleader? Even at a place where the position doesn't count for much, there are plenty who disapprove.
-Semith's Clutch is on the sands! Candidates (both guard and prisoner alike) are desperately needed! With a dragon as odd as Semith, both touching and hatching alike are bound to be a little... different.
