Month 1-3
Lialsuth is 4-6 meters long and eats 4 times per day. You must butcher a herdbeast and feed your dragon. Buckets of meat were provided for the first day only.
- Dragon will still eat 5 full meals a day at the beginning of this month, although this will begin to taper off to only 2 meals a day by the end of the month.
- Dragonets will still excrete in their barracks, which must be cleaned daily. Dragons must be bathed and oiled at least once per day.
- Dragon and rider begin to develop a deeper understanding of themselves during this time and start to learn to separate their feelings from each other. Though any instances of high emotion on either part will automatically excite the other still.
- Weyrling will begin to get a more consistent amount of sleep, but will also be expected to continue with regular chores to assist the barracks and the Weyr as well.
Focus of classes during this month
- Days will consist of strength and stamina training for both weyrling and dragonet and lectures from the Weyrlingmaster and other designated riders.
- Classes will focus heavily on understanding full dragon anatomy during this month.
- Also included in classes this month: General dragonrider etiquette, Weyr history, Pern history, reading and writing and basic arithmetic instruction. Weyrlings will spend time with the WeyrHarper as well as the Weyrlingmaster in order to further their education this month and learn all the necessary history.
- Weyrlings start studying and memorizing wing formations in preparation for ground drills the following month.
- Weyrlings are assigned a rider mentor to talk to, ask questions, and seek extra help from. They are encouraged to use this resource throughout the remainder of their training.
