Dragonrider Application
Name: T’nev
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Rank Wingsecond -at least he was at Ista Weyr, not sure for here-
Physical Description
T'nev is a decent looking man. He stands pretty tall, reaching over six foot, which is a blessing considering his dragon's size. His hair is a dark brown, as are his eyes. Though he never practiced any crafts he is in decent shape. Even as a young child he would run around and he has remained strong from those younger years. His skin is dark from the hot tropical sun in Ista and his skin is rough from the constant flights. He has a slight beard as he can be slightly lazy when it comes to shaving. The young man can usually be found smiling and laughing. He can be a serious man, but the laugh lines are definitely present on his face. There is a warm to his deep brown eyes and the confidence that belies someone willing to take responsibility despite the situation.

Celebrity Name for Face Claim Gaspard Ulliel
Character Personality:
As a child T’nev was known as a little devil, constantly messing with the headwoman and all the drudges in the weyr. Taking food from the pantries and being a crazed kid overall. However, it was simply his need for attention and a sense of control. His parents were off training to fight thread, and T’nev had ambition running in his blood. The young man was not content to sit around and play simple games. No he wanted a challenge, and that meant making trouble and getting away with it. His ambition led him to try many different crazy things and by accomplishing them he gained confidence. It was this sense of extreme ambition; a need to make himself known and lead that impressed his Raeth.
The brown needed a rider that had fire in his veins, otherwise the brown would never reach his goals. The two ended up being perfect for eachother. Disobeying the Weyrlingmaster and trying all the difficult feats they were specifically told not to do. Everything was seen as a challenge to overcome. The first in their age group to attempt going between…and much earlier than the Weyrlingmaster would have allowed. Raeth and T’nev almost killed themselves that day. Thankfully they survived and learned from the experience. From then on they fine tuned their ambition and drive to do better than anyone else. As they aged they began to understand the huge responsibility that leadership carried with it. T’nev became even more humbled and focused. He began to not take as many risks as he needed to be there for his wingriders. As wingsecond he did an incredible job, demanding from bronze riders that he and his Raeth could outfly. It was his ambition and drive that helped him survive when tragedy strike.
Character Background:
T’nev was born Telanev 22 turns ago in Ista Weyr. The son of a blue rider and green rider he was one of the products produced by the gold queen’s rising. His younger years were spent as any weyrbrat and son of dragonriders. Dreaming of impressing and generally getting into trouble wherever he went. He was a confident kid getting into trouble with riders and their dragons no matter where he turned. The Headwomen swore he was the spawn of some devil whenever she found he pantries depleted. Telanev enjoyed living in the small weyr and was made to spent a lot of his time journeying the tropical surroundings. After all, his mother and father were busy with their dragons and training for the next threadfall, so he’d get kicked outside to go play. That way he wouldn’t be sneaking into the sands to get a peak at any clutches he was not old enough for. When it came time to stand on the sands he was extremely confident, after all, he was young strong and smart. What dragon wouldn’t want him as theirs? Telanev was the son of a blue and green riders after all. The boy was humbled the first time he stood before a clutch, and he was bypassed by every last bronze, brown and blue hatchling. Not to be deterred he took the lesson of humility from the hatchlings and immediately went back to work as a candidate. His mine had simply not been in that clutch…
He was fourteen when he stood for his second time as Gold Ralianth did not rise in the previous turn. This time he felt different, confident and proud, sure of himself but not so arrogant that he thought every dragon that hatched would just love to be his. However, despite his supposed confidence it was to his surprise when the first dragon to break free from its egg was a large brown. Telanev had to look twice, for the creature’s hide was so darkly colored it looked black, and it was so large he thought it a small bronze at first glance. Then he felt its mind touch his and impression was made, from then on he was T’nev, rider of brown Raeth.
From then on he lived to work with his mine and Raeth just kept on growing. The two worked great as a team and showed incredible promise for fighting thread and even becoming a rarer brown wingleader. However, they were still young and immature. They had much to learn about being leaders and made many crucial mistakes early on in their career. However, they learned from those mistakes and after a period of five years from first impression they became a pair that Ista Weyr could be proud of. Raeth was the largest brown anyone had ever seen and Ista began to wonder if one day they would have a Weyrleader bonded to a brown dragon. However, T’nev and brown Raeth did not have the ambition at their younger ages. They were content to fly the greens when they rose. It was fighting thread and leading Weryriders that they enjoyed. Raeth thought gold’s beautiful, but he never truly felt the desire to catch one, just as T’nev thought the senior and junior Weyrwomen absolutely wretched people. Still they soon showed promise and became wingseconds, all knew it was only a matter of time before they proved worthy of wingleader.
Then came tragedy and T’nev knew they could not remain on the island. For some reason strange liquid was destroying the land and people were dying everywhere. Gold Ralianth and hers thought it best to stay put, they were safest on the tropical island, the mainland had to be in worse shape. They could defend their weyr and survive the tragedy. T’nev and Raeth felt differently, but as wingseconds there were few that would listen to their pleas. They needed to flee, find somewhere safe, but Ralianth would not be moved by some overgrown brown that didn’t have the courage to try and catch the junior gold Kailenth. So T’nev and Raeth decided then to take with them whoever would go, and fled west.
Dragon
Dragon name: Raeth (sounds like wraith)
Dragon color & appearance: Brown – his hide is an incredibly dark brown, almost appearing black. He is one of, if not the, largest brown in the current age, reaching the size of some bronzes.
Dragon age: 8 Turns - Clutch mother and father – Gold Ralianth by Bronze Joreth
Dragon personality:
Raeth is strong and confident due to his size, and yet he remains surprisingly humble. He believes that if he truly wanted a queen he could catch her, but he does not brag all across the Weyr. Raeth is incredibly stable and surprisingly intelligent. His qualities would befit a leader; T’nev has told his many times that he thinks like a bronze. When he runs his group as a wingsecond he gives out orders to the other dragons with confidence.
There is little messing around with him, Raeth is all business. He is mostly concerned with fighting thread and doing well for T’nev. Raeth gets very unruly should he be separated from his for too long. He is known through Ista for having a bad temperament when away from T’nev, but he is also known for his humble strength when his rider is about. Slowly he is getting better at being separated. He is a quite brown, keeping most of his thoughts to himself, but he is very ambitious as well. Raeth is not content to continually fly greens, they are simply too easy to catch despite their agile ways. They simply don’t have his lasting power in the sky.
Roleplay Sample:
Raeth’s eyes were a tinge mixed between yellow and orange, his mind filled with fright and the sense of danger all around. Yet he flew on, his strong wings carrying him forward through the vicious winds that tore apart his island home. Within his mind he could feel the cry of his queen, and he longed to return and help her. But forward he flew. T’nev helped keep him on course, they had to make for the mainland. Safety. Safety would be there and then sadness. Sadness could come only after safety.
T’nev mine we have almost reached the mainland.[/i]
The rider could hear the hint of sadness in his dragon’s tone, but he could also see the clear sign of fright in Raeth’s eyes. Strangely enough it was not fear for themselves, but fear for Pern itself. This horrid storm was set upon the entire world, and they were merely trying to survive. Raeth was fearful for the queen they had left behind in Ista, for the greens he’d grown to know and the blues that he commanded. His brother the browns and the bronzes he fought with, all of them back on the island were crying. T’nev was deeply disturbed, but he remained strong against the storm, his brow furrowed, his eyes deadest on their target. They would live and see this through, Ista Weyr would not be forgotten. Behind him flew a few a blue’s, a bit more greens, and two browns. Next to him flew an older bronze, a retired wingleader. Raeth could easily keep pace with the aged bronze, was nearly its size, but he had to keep pace for those behind. The dark brown shown a near black in the coming night, disappearing as the sun fell.
Fear not my Raeth, we will lead these few to the mainland.
Mine, the greens speak of weary wings.[/color]
As far as T’nev knew the mainland had no safe place to land, he knew they were close, he had flown to other Weyr’s before, but the land could be on fire for all he knew. They had to lead these few to safety no matter what happened…they were his part of the wing…the few that trusted him, the few that new in order to survive they must fly. Now T’nev would not let them down, gritting his teeth he leaned low in the saddle and pet Raeth’s smooth hide.
Tell them we fly ahead to find shelter from the flames. Not much longer. And tell bronze Joreth to watch them.
Raeth rumbled deep in his throat, passing the message on to those dragons following behind. There was a roar of acknowledgement from the bronze off to the side as Raeth sped ahead. Even as he was finishing the messages he put more muscle to his wings, quickly pulling ahead of the group, speeding forward towards the mainland. Urgency gave him strength, the need of those that depended on him now drove him forward as he out flew the wind. T’nev leaned low, giving encouragement to his.
