Ozanath Seaweyr, where Lord Holders rule, and
the Weyrwoman was never made. A weyr founded
by Benden, left waiting for decades, has continued
onward for two intervals without a single queen
to be gifted. They weren't meant to survive, they
weren't meant to get a Weyrwoman.
The size barrier of dragons having been reached for
every color, the inbred dragons grew the size of
jets unchecked, the genes not capping in gaps to any
degree. For it was such that a blue, as big as Ramoth,
caught a golden dragon. This action caused Benden to
found a new Weyr, one that was spread out like a city
to make room for the massive dragons, on the Western
Continent across the ocean. Build like Iceland, the
climate was cold, and the herdbeasts were few. The
Weyr was meant to die, but the bluerider of Ozanath saved it.
He built a community with the Holds to the South,
using manual labor of the riders as a means to get
the food they need. They fished, and competed their
male dragons in Olympics to pick the new Weyrleaders
every turn, everyone doing their part for their survival.
The culture was different; the dragons were the same.
In their desperation for a queen, the dragon numbers
slowly weaned as the decades went on, a green clutched
Ever since, it has always been the greens who provide
the Ozanath Weyr with the eggs it needs, and they have
survived onward now for hundreds of turns. Will you come
and join the goldless Weyr? A Weyr so inbred that strange
colors have begun to be arrive, and dragonriders are forced
to flee to the Holds just to survive the Winter weather?
