A Pern Year is referred to as one Turn.
It is stated that a Pernese Turn is made up of 362 days, with a Leap Year every 6th Turn.
There is some discrepancy over exactly how many months/and days per month there are on Pern. Some sources seem to indicate the year is made of of 13 months with 28 days each, which others indicate that there are 12 months with 30 days each.
For the purposes of our role-play we are going to portray the calendar year as having 12 months with 30 days each.
There are also two days at the end of each Turn, referred to as Turnover. One is known as Turn's End and the other, Turn's Beginning (which are counted as two additional days for month 12).
Each month is numbered, rather than named. First month, Second Month, etc.
One week of time on Pern is known as a sevenday. Each day within the sevenday is numbered. Firstday, Seconday, Thirdday, etc.
In order to refer to a date, for a birthingday, for instance, you would list the month then the day as follows: m5 d17... this would stand for Fifth month, Seventeenth day.
Turn's End and Turn's Beginning would be numbered as Follows: m12 d31 and m12 d32.
On a larger note, Turns are counted within the larger groupings of Intervals and Passes.
An Interval is a time when Thread does not fall. A standard Interval is 200 Turns, whereas a Long Interval (such as the one prior to the 5th Pass) would be 450 Turns.
A Pass indicates the time when the Red Star has passed close enough to drop Thread once again. A Pass normally lasts for 50 Turns.
