Backstory:
Tobias had a great childhood as his parents opted to stay together as mates for life. He always had others around as his mother was a Fosterer and raised many other children.
Having considered following in his father's footsteps as a beastcrafter, Tobias found they he had a more artistic side and decided instead to turn the hides of the animals into various things. This led to him becoming an apprentice Tanner. After years of experience and hard work, Tobias worked his way up the ranks until he reached the status of Master. He longed for the chance to assume the Craftmaster role, but it did not appear to be in his future, that was until disaster struck.
Tobias has never found a lifemate of his own, though he has had a few dalliances over the years. He spent much of his time working to achieve the rank in his craft and therefore had little time to spend on developing a relationship with another. It was not really something that mattered to him before, figuring there would always be a time for it. But now, after all the destruction he has seen, Tobias realizes just how precious time can be.
