Name: Saeddie
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Rank: Greenrider
Physical Description: Saeddie is relatively short for a girl, and a bit heavier than she would like to be. She manages to get a lot of exercise in tending to her dragon, but she can never seem to shed the layer of fat that covers her otherwise muscular build. She describes herself as "curvy," and she does have curves in all the right places, she just has a few in places that she isn't fond of as well. Her hair is chin length, and reddish-brown in color. She keeps it just short enough to fit under a riding cap, but not so short that she can't pull it back if she needs it out of her way. Her eyes are a greenish-blue hue, and are slightly larger than proportionate for the rest of her facial features. Her face is heart shaped, but a little rounder than she'd prefer. She has a straight nose, slightly upturned at the bottom, and thick, bow-shaped lips.
Saeddie walks with a slight limp from a Threadscore on her right lower calf. Fortuantely, the score was relatively small, and she managed to jump between quickly, so she didn't lose too much muscle from her calf. She generally avoids shorter skirts because of the scar, and wears longer skirts or trousers instead. She favors neutral tones, like grays, blacks, and browns, as she thinks that they look good on her. She has a small dragon pendant that she wears about her neck - a gift from when she Impresssed Cyth.

Celebrity Name for Face Claim: Christina Hendricks
Character Personality: Saeddie is an outgoing young woman. She is good at making small talk with others, and goes out of her way to make new friends and acquaintances. Part of this is definitely flirtatiousness, but more than that, Saeddie likes making other people happy. If she sees someone sitting by themselves at the Dining Caverns, she'd be the first one to walk over to them and say hello. Unfortuantely, outgoing frequently translates into "overly talkative" and her perky demeanor often causes others to think she is annoying.
Saeddie doesn't like being alone and will do whatever she can to avoid it. She also has some small problems with responsibility - specifically in relation to timeliness. She tends to run late to wing meetings, sweeps, etc. unless she absolutely forces herself to be on time for them.
Character Background: Saeddie's mother, a greenrider, transferred to Fort Weyr when Saeddie was just a young girl, so it’s the only home that she remembers before Dragon Weyr. As a young child, she did the typical weyrbrat things - catching tunnel snakes, sneaking onto the Hatching Sands, and stealing food when the kitchen staff wasn't looking. She didn't have any strong skills that would cause her to apprentice to a craft, so she became a Kitchen worker at the Weyr as soon as she was old enough.
Saeddie liked cooking - baking especially - so she wasn't entirely disappointed that the first few times she stood at Hatchings that she didn't Impress. Cyth would find her when she was 19 turns old, and was starting to believe that she'd never be a dragonrider. Weyrling training was somewhat of a struggle for Saeddie as she was a bit heavy then, and had to work hard to take care of Cyth. She also nearly didn't graduate in time because she had a tremendously hard time being on time for her classes. She managed to get her act together and the pair graduated Weyrling training with the rest of their class.
Less than a turn after making the fighting wings, Saeddie and Cyth would get injured during the meteor storm, which hurt the side of Cyth's neck, and Saeddie's right leg. While Cyth's injuries were minor, Saeddie needed a cane to walk for a few sevendays after, and had limits placed on going between.
Since then, Saeddie and Cyth have been free of injury, short of a sprain here and there. Saeddie works hard to distinguish herself from the other greenriders in her wing, but it doesn't help much that she can never seem to make it to the wing meeting on time.
Dragon's Name: Cyth
Dragon's Color & Appearance: Green - Cyth is a relatively small green. Her hide is a medium emerald green hue, getting lighter at muzzle, wing sails and underbelly. The right side of her neck, near where her rider sits bears several scars from their previous accident. Cyth is a well-proportioned dragon overall, with a slender, feminine build. Saeddie terms her lifemate as "dainty" and the word is quite a fitting description of the green.
Dragon's Age: 9
Dragon's Personality: Cyth is every bit as outgoing as her rider is. She spends much of her time sitting on her ledge, chit chatting with other dragons. She sometimes gets in trouble for "gossiping" with others during wing meetings, and it is sometimes hard for her to focus on drills. When Thread is in the sky, on the other hand, her focus is faultless.
Sample Roleplay:
Saeddie wiped the sweat from her brow as she entered the Hotsprings. Wing drills had been rough. Even though summer was still a bit away, temperatures were rising, and completing maneuvers in full riding gear would make even the most heat-tolerant person sweat like an over-exerted runner. She stripped her clothes off quickly before slowly lowering herself into the naturally warm waters. She hummed contentedly to herself. She had beaten the rest of her wing to the water, and would have a few moments of peace to herself before she had to deal with anyone else.
She allowed the warmth of the water to relax tired, aching muscles. For the first time in over a turn, she felt like she was able to relax. Sure, not all was well - she still missed those that were killed in the meteor strikes, and she still hadn’t made as many friends at Dragon Weyr as she would like. But she and Cyth were safe - well, at least as safe as any dragonpair could be during a Pass. And while those who were now gone could never be replaced, she could always try and meet new friends.
She smiled to herself. Yes, that’s what she needed to do - find new friends. She dunked her head under the water for a moment, wetting her reddish hair. Opening her eyes, one of her wingmates walked in. She’d never really spoken with him, but now seemed like the perfect time to change that. “Hey there,” she greeted with a smile.
