Soft forest green eyes gazed across the lands of the area between Hold and Weyr, the brown specs within dulled with the rest of the color. Very near to the small lake, the young woman stood there in completely brown clothes. Well a tunic and vest, with breeches and boots her normal outfit within brown hues.
"I am sorry I did not do this before now... B'n.. Growath.. F'nil.. Caerth.. Rita.. Estrith.. Cad.... I hope you all are at peace and resting well. Sorry that I cannot do this at the homes you all loved.."
A soft voice spoke quietly as she started to kneel down onto the ground. Carefully with a hand Linda slowly reached into her pouch to bring out a few wooden figurines. Made from just wood she found here and there from her wanderings, really pieces nobody could use really anymore. They weren't perfect but carved into the likeness of three boys and a girl, three of which had a dragon carved with them.
"I am sorry I could not spend more detail on it.... but I feel if I finish them then there is no hope any of you are alive..."
Carefully she placed the carving up and underneath in a bush full of leaves and branches. Leaning back before a hand reached up to brush some of her brown hair out of her eyes and behind her ears. Now that it was placed, her several candlemark's time worth of work, she could try to feel some level of closure. Or hopefully a sense of purpose to, her eyes closed as her head tilted down.
"I will not forget any of you, remember that."
Now though she slowly started to stand up, but her feet wouldn't move after that. Rooted to the spot just as she stared at the bush in front of her that contained her little hidden memorial for those she lost from the disaster. Several moments had passed before Linda's head lifted up to gaze in the direction of everyone's old home, maybe one day they could return but that would not save those lives who were lost. Hands started to clench against either side of her body, no it was that red star's fault for bringing more disaster here it had to be.

"Shards," Evie cursed as she snagged her dress on something. She knew this was a bad idea. What had she been thinking, going outside the Hold? What if something attacked her, what if she hurt herself, what if...
She sighed. That was exactly why she had stepped outside the gates - to prove to herself that she was not helpless. That she was still worth something... somehow... her fingers fumbled with what felt like the branch of a bush until her dress came free.
"25 Turns and as helpless as a small child," she muttered. Better to go back, before she got herself into trouble -
As she caught the smell of water, Evie realized she had no idea which way was back. Water must mean she'd walked close to the lake... but which way was Dragon Hold?
With a small cry of frustrated despair, she sank to her knees.
"Is anyone out there?" she called, "Please? Anyone?"

"Shards"
The sound carried over the nearby lake, causing Linda to get shaken out of her reverie and blink a few times. Was that noise an actual person or was her mind playing tricks on her again? A slight frown started to cross her face as she started to look around, if anyone found out what she had done they might mess with the carving.
{I might as well try to go look and see if I can lead them away from the carving at least if I am not hearing things.} Linda thought to herself, green eyes glancing about her surroundings to no avail yet. The water resounding it and not really hearing it the first time made the direction even harder to discern, at least for her that was. Maybe they would speak out again if she started to move? Slowly her boot clad feet started to move forwards, along the side of the lake in one direction in hopes that if they see her movement they will call out again or she will see them in a new area.
"Is anyone out there?" ... "Please? Anyone?"
Linda just frowned as she heard the voice again, were they in distress or got hurt? Great did she have enough supplies to deal with anything too badly that one could get out here? Quickly her Feet started to to race towards where she had heard the voice more clearly this time.
"Yes I am here, are you hurt or in need of assistance? Call out again So I can Find you or can you follow my voice?" The young girl cried out.

"Yes I am here..."
Evie smiled, immensely relieved. She slowly stood up, turning in the direction of the voice. It sounded like a young girl. She didn't sound too far away - but neither was she close. Evie idly wondered what a young girl was doing out here alone, but didn't think about it for long. Right now, she was more concerned she may have worried her 'rescuer' unnecessarily.
"I'm not hurt, just..." Evie paused, suddenly shy. This was embarrassing. Once she got back to the Hold, she wouldn't leave it for a Turn.
"I'm just lost," she called back, hesitating for just a brief moment before finishing, "I'm blind."
And foolish, she thought, though she didn't voice it out loud.

"I am not hurt, just..."
Well that was a lucky thing, because by the first egg she definitely was not looking forward to trying to keep her mind on task to stitch a leg up or set a broken limb or anything of the sort. Slowly Linda started to push forward more through the flora getting nearer and nearer to the other speaker.
"I'm just lost."
Lost? Well that was interesting.... well not really interesting Linda knew many were afraid to venture too far for fear of getting lost in such a new place. Linda was glad that the other woman though was still speaking though, made it easier to search for her. Quickly righting a mistake that would have led her off course otherwise.
"I'm Blind."
Forest green eyes just blinked a little in surprise at that, a person who was blind with no way of a map or someone or something to guide? Well guess this person must have a good reason for that, or hoped they did.
"No worries I will be right there shortly, Though might I suggest getting an animal or something of the sort that would help you travel more easily? Not to be poking into your business but possibly even rather smelly herbs could be used as a trail of where you have been too."
Linda racked her brain for any other solutions for the person to use, possibly already been told anyways but the little conversation while trying to find this woman couldn't hurt. Also if she started to move too far away from the Woman her voice would show it of course. Not that it took her that long suddenly she caught sight of the standing holder of the earlier voice. "Ah there you are, no worries I see you now."

"... might I suggest getting an animal or something of the sort that would help you travel more easily..."
Evie sighed. Well, yes, that made sense. Of course, she had no idea how one would go about training an animal to perform that sort of function.
"I will have to ask a beastcrafter if such a thing is possible - an animal to help me. As it is, I thought that by counting my steps I would be able to find my way back, assuming I walked in a straight line."
Evie shrugged and made a futile gesture, "Then I realized I couldn't be sure if I had walked in a straight line or not."
"Ah there you are, no worries I see you now."
"My thanks," Evie's smile and relief at being helped slowly faded. Somehow, knowing the girl was close made her feel awkward. It was strange, talking to people she couldn't see, and yet could hear and feel were close by. Not to mention the fact that most people were... unnerved, by how she didn't look straight at them when they talked.
"I'm sorry to have been such an inconvenience for you," she quietly apologized.

Upon hearing the words of the other woman, Linda had stopped with a little frown on her face at the fact that it might not be possible. "Yeah That would be a good idea to ask a beastcrafter, probably a master at that."
Her feet started to walk forward again though as she kept on listening to the other Woman, correcting the way she was going. "It is rather hard to go into a straight line outside, many people think it is a great idea though so do not worry. Even the most careful of people get lost from time to time and don't go into a straight line."
Quickly though Linda had moved passed any trees or bushes to come within a few feet of the other woman. She noticed the other woman did look older then her, at least by a little bit but looks didn't show everything correctly. A little shrug went through her body before Linda started to look around, aiming for any spots to grab her bearings again.
"You are welcome, no worries I will get you back to the Hold right?" Slowly she started doing some mental thinking within her head as she gazed at her surroundings. Okay she just came from over there, which how she got from the Craft Hall which was that way from the Hold... Giving a little nod though she then looked back at Evelie as she spoke again.
"It is alright, you are not an Inconvenience and it is better then what I had planned as well. I actually welcome this distraction. The hold is this way though if you want me to take you back." Linda took a few steps towards the direction of the Hold before she stopped and looked back at the woman.

Evie smiled as the the girl - young woman - reassured her. Now that the woman was closer, Evie thought she sounded a bit closer in age to herself than she had originally thought. It was so irritating to not know even such simple facts about a person, having to rely entirely on what someone sounds like.
As the young woman came towards her, Evie told herself to find a master beastcrafter when she returned to the Hold. If such a thing as an aide animal were possible, she would take full advantage of it.
"The hold is this way though if you want me to take you back."
"Ah... which direction?" Evie shyly grinned, looking towards the general direction of footsteps. "I can hear the steps you took, but I would feel more comfortable if you could perhaps take my arm to guide me? That way I won't fall behind - or run into you."

Linda of course could not tell the woman had any inner troubles or turmoil about her limited view. Her mind slightly wandered to the fact that maybe the Beastcrafter Master didn't know any animals or anything. Now that she thought about it she only really knew about what she had learned as a young girl, then older from being a healer and with Dragons so near too.
"Ah... which direction?"
A little shrug caused her to get out of her own inner recesses of her mind though before she glanced over at Evie. Oh yeah the follow her voice wouldn't help much as she went and zigzagged over the landscape now could it. Quickly though she walked back to Evie though as she listened further to the other woman's words.
"Very well then, especially if I were to not go in a straight line. Don't want to have you follow my voice and then run into a tree or something. That would be poor on my part."
Linda could not help but frown a little bit though, getting close to another human still kind of bothered her a little bit. But as she learned her craft she kind of had to force herself to get near patients and this one would be no different right? Carefully Linda started to convince herself this woman was a patient, instead of healing though needed to be taken home. Carefully though she reached out and touch Evie's arm before she started to walk towards the hold, trying to be as gentle as she could.

"Don't want to have you follow my voice and then run into a tree or something. That would be poor on my part."
Evie raised an eyebrow, amused. It wouldn't exactly be fun for me either, she silently thought to herself. "Ah, yes. Thank you, for guiding me."
She felt a hint of surprise at the touch of the woman's hand. Not seeing meant it always felt like someone was sneaking up on her. At least the woman had been gentle, which helped. In fact, Evie thought she might have detected some hesitancy... but it was impossible to tell for sure. Just a feeling, which Evie soon dismissed.
Evie tried to relax, letting the woman lead her, stepping carefully and hoping her dress didn't become caught again. She preferred dresses, especially since she lost her sight, because she didn't have to worry about matching colors. However, a dress was not the most practical choice to go wandering the wilderness in, blindly. Literally. Something to keep in mind for next time. If there was a next time.
It occurred to her that she did not know her rescuer's name.
"May I ask what your name is?" Evie asked, quiet and polite.

A nod moved her head as she listened to Evie thanking her, only to realize afterwords that of course Evie couldn't see it so she had to speak up. "You are welcome, no need to thank me though." Her touch was still slightly hesitant though, with not that tight of a grip though as she lead the woman. Going this way and that through trees and bushes, the landscape changed slightly as they went while Linda kept trying to take the easier paths.
Her mind was swimming actually with inner thoughts and worries, she hoped this woman wouldn't be able to tell someone she was out by the lake and then someone find the carving because of that. But who knows... if they took it she would just have to make another one and put it back. But they didn't really have much wood to really use did they, thankfully she just used any random wood she found laying around out here. Wait the person said something? Linda instantly shook herself out of her head, she asked her what she was called right?
"My name is Linda, a Journeywoman Healer."

Evie kept her feet moving, surrendering herself to whichever direction she felt pulled in. It was an odd feeling, being so completely at someone's mercy, but it was a feeling she would have to live with the rest of her life, she suspected.
The sounds of branches and leaves crackling around her, under her feet, the swish of her dress against the foliage... it had a nice rhythm to it. Evie listened as she walked, hoping she would remember the beat once she was back at the Hold with her hands on a drum. At least she didn't need to see to play. Her world hadn't completely been stolen from her.
As Linda gave her name, Evie couldn't help but think the Healer sounded distracted.
"I am Evelie, but some call me Evie. Ah, is everything alright?"

Linda merely stopped for a few moments to look back at the other woman, so it was true that if you lost one sense the others heighten? It really did seem so with the other woman. She started to walk again though, still headed towards the hold with the woman being lead along behind her by the arm.
"I guess if you can say so, just remembering all that was lost earlier and still kind of in that frame of mind is all. But that is nothing I cannot think about later anyways."

"... just remembering all that was lost ..."
Aha. Evie wondered if that had been the reason for Linda being by the lake. A place to think, reflect on times past with some privacy... at least, until a blind woman stumbles by.
Oh, Evie, she silently scolded herself, Stop feeling sorry for yourself. It won't bring your sight back.
"Did you lose much?" The instant she said it, Evie thought it was a terrible thing to ask, "I don't mean to pry," she apologized, "I was simply curious."

Slowly Linda came to a stop after Evelie spoke up asking if she lost much, her gaze didn't move up from the ground in front of her but her grip stayed upon the other woman's shoulder.
"I... lost everything. My entire family, three of which I knew were riders at least."
Linda didn't say anything after that though, she even started to force her feet to move her forward slowly ever closer towards the hold. Large deep breathes moved in and out of her body as she kept her calm and emotions masked behind civil professionalism. Now was not the time to grieve, she had a job to do that she could not do blinded by tears.
"Everyone lost something I believe though, You cannot let the sadness control your life and need to live for those who are lost like they would want you to."
