This is an event that was approved by the Admin. This is for searching out any candidates that need Searched, in particular Linda. If there are any others, please join in the post.
Events no longer needed due to the new rule-change.
Date: Month 11, day 3, Mid-Morning ----
L'yst and Woreth circled over the Hold, their spirals drawing tighter and tighter until the pair landed in the courtyard not far from the main hold. He watched as the other dragons in the group also came in for a landing.
In a matter of moments, L'yst dismounted and moved to unfasten the pouches he carried. They'd been asked to deliver some items to the Hold. Taking the bag over his shoulder, he turned towards the other riders and motioned them to carry the satchels to the Hold. They'd find out where they belonged, drop them and be on their way.
Others approach, Woreth told him. L'yst stopped, and waited. Perhaps the Hold had sent out a welcoming party after all.

Following along in formation beside the Weyrlingmaster, Z’ris and Kardenzoth descended from the skies above Dragon Hold in their slow spiral pattern until effortlessly touching down beside Woreth. Z’ris dismounted and moved over to assist L’yst with the satchels they had been asked to deliver. Taking two, throwing one over his shoulder and grasping the other with his free hand. Then he took up position just behind L’yst’s right shoulder.
It had been some time since Z’ris had participated in a Search. It would be nice to find a candidate. To be a use to the Weyr by finding the right sort of person, who would impress and become a part of Pern’s fighting force. Now, more than ever, they needed riders. Thread had returned and with the low number of riders Z’ris was disheartened – would it be possible to save their home? He knew it was; but at what cost? How much of the planet would be inhabitable? How many people would be left in the end?
‘Do not distress yourself, Rismine. All will be well. We will fight. We will be victorious!’
Kardenzoth had a point. Now was not the time for fretting over such these. They needed to focus on their task – searching out potential candidates.

A young woman was toiling away inside of the Hold, helping others make up bandages and healing pastes from herbs. Everything one would need to stock up an infirmary, well fill up and then some. Dark Green eyes bent down intently as they stared at the delicate movements of one's hands that were needed with such a craft. Long brown hair was pulled back into a thick, and long, braid down to the back of her knees with wisps of strands that poked out.
She even tuned out the idle chatter of the others who were working, she didn't know who they were and didn't frankly care right now for she had a job to do. Only when an exclamation of the word Dragons go through the room did she turn her head to look at the stumbling humans run toward the the exit in hopes of a glimpse. Dragon's were here? Maybe they were in need of more supplies and were waiting for someone to show them the way.
A little smile just spread over her lips, it could not hurt to see them anyways. Quickly she got up and pushed her way through the other workers, getting some oaths and not so nice words thrown at her back as she went towards the main entrance. "Ah such pretty blue's.... I wonder if they need any help..." She spoke the last part as she glanced to their burdens the Riders were taking off. Quickly she started to walk forward, though she stopped a Dragon Length away before she bowed rather low.
"Greetings, do you need any help?"

L'yst saw the young woman approach. He nodded when she spoke.
"Thank you. We're actually just looking for where these bundles are supposed to go. I was told they were to help resupply some of the crafts here at the Hold." L'yst shifted the weight on his shoulder and looked to Z'ris.
This one is interesting. Woreth spoke into L'yst's mind. L'yst looked back at his blue. Woreth was well known for his ability to choose potential candidates, yet he normally stated right away if he found someone worthy. His response towards the hold woman was interesting to say the least.
"Would you mind showing us to the main hold room? I think if we put the supplies there, whomever the Steward is can sort out what goes where. I'm L'yst, rider of blue Woreth, this here, is Z'ris of blue Kardenzoth." He inclined his hand to the man slightly behind him. "And you might be?"

Ah so these two blue riders were bringing bundles to help resupply the crafts not the other way around then. She gave a simple nod and walked forward a bit more. "The new supplies would be appreciated, us healers were just working on making more medicines before you both arrived actually. Also I can help carry some if you both need."
Of course Linda knew nothing that was going on with the blue and his rider L'yst of commenting of her. If she did she would have probably been appalled thinking she didn't give enough respect and attention to the blue to make him think such a thing. She listened though as the rider asked more questions then introduced the two of them and the dragons. A little smile just crossed her lips as she gave yet another nod.
"I would not mind helping." Not like she could let someone else help them, the scared wherries were still trying to hide behind doors it seemed like causing a fuss. "It is nice to meet you L'yst, Woreth, Z'ris, and Kardenzoth and might I add their hides look very healthy too." She of course could not help herself from her comment upon the Dragon's health, would mean they were well taken care of and as much of a compliment as she could muster for the moment.
"Oh I am Linda."

"Linda," L'yst inclined his head in greeting.
She flatters me, Woreth said and then peered in the direction of the girl. Lystmine, this one has something special. I can feel it.
L'yst turned back and smiled at his blue. Sitting down his package he looked to Linda.
"Woreth has taken a liking to you, it seems. When he does such things, that normally means he thinks you would make a good candidate. Have you ever considered standing for a hatching Linda?"

Another smile kind of tweaked at Linda's face as she saw the rider, L'yst she inwardly corrected herself, turn to look at his blue Dragon. The rider also had a smile, so it was possible Woreth had sad something nice about what she had just spoken of. Linda could only imagine those quiet private conversations and what it must be like too, but soon however L'yst turned back towards her after putting down his package? Her smile started to dissipate though, maybe something wrong did happen and needed to be addressed before the movement of the items..
"Woreth has taken a liking to you, it seems. When he does such things, that normally means he thinks you would make a good candidate. Have you ever considered standing for a hatching Linda?"
Linda could only open her mouth, then started to blink as the words started to seep further into her head. A quick glance up at the blue though was all it took for the huge smile to cross her lips before she turned back to L'yst to speak.
"I am glad he doesn't dislike me then, and well yes I have always wanted to actually. Three of my siblings were Riders, one of whom I got to be very close to his Dragon as well just never chosen to stand." Linda tried to keep herself as calm as she could, though the large smile on her face and her voice started to lighten more then just her professional tone that she tried to wrestle back into submission within her mind.

"You have been chosen now," L'yst replied with a smile. Leaning down, he picked up the bundle he'd set at his feet and hefted it onto his shoulder once more.
"If you'll just lead the way to the hall, I'll drop this off, then we can discuss what it would mean if you accept the role of Candidate," He shifted the bundle a bit and began moving forward.
As they walked he asked, "Your siblings were riders? What Weyr? Why were you not chosen to Stand before? Woreth surely has an eye for those who will make good candidates, and he has shown that he thinks you will fit the role nicely."

A little smile couldn't help but spread across Linda's features again as she heard that she is now chosen to stand. Her eyes glanced and watch though as the blue rider, Search Rider she corrected herself, picked up the bundle again. Quietly she listened to him speak up of leading the way while they discuss what it would mean if she accepted the role. "Of course, right this way." She spoke up before she turned toward the Hold as she went to lead him to the storage area.
Then he asked about her siblings, she just gave a soft sigh and then pondered a little bit. "Well F'nil and Rita both got searched a long time ago, it took them awhile to impress and got shoved from Weyr to Weyr. They finally ended up impressed to Brown Caerth and Green Estrith. Though I have not heard from them since impression, neither has my oldest brother either. B'n was searched I think... three turns ago to Fort Weyr, he impressed a Bronze by the name Growath."
Linda couldn't help but giggle a little bit and smile as she remembered the first time she met Growath. But then she recalled he had asked some more questions so she opened her mouth to speak up again. "I am not sure why I was not chosen, I figured I just didn't have what it took yet if it was going to happen. I spent a lot of time with B'n and Growath though and spoke with him, B'n did try hard to get me to come to the Weyr a lot to try to see if any dragon would pick me out."
Another soft chuckle went through her as she remembered all the Antics her Brother did to try to get her to become a candidate. "Maybe they wanted to wait till I became a Journeywoman Healer, I became one scarcely a month before all this catastrophe happened... Or maybe the humans decided to keep me away because they didn't like me. I don't have any other ideas really, and I am glad Woreth Honors me with such thoughts."
