R'enh smiled across the table at Maram quite happy with the way she'd welcomed his son.
He was still a bit shaken with the discovery himself but he followed the conversation closely until his eyes started drooping. Suddenly shaking his head back to wakefulness. The hot food and good company had caused him to relax.
"I'm very sorry." he said to all around the table. "But with training today and fall tomorrow, I fear it is time for me to retire."
He put his hand on Zorenh's shoulder. "I'd like to see a demonstration of your skills sometime. You know we dragon riders must train as well. It might be nice to spar with you some time."
He smiled enjoying the fact he had a 'grown' son. "You let me know if you need anything alright." his eyes got serious as he looked into the younger man's "I mean that." he said.
"This has been an enjoyable meal." he grinned at Xanthe and then back at Maram who he knew had been tired when he dropped the party in her lap. This was as much for her as it was for him.
"Sorry to break it up." he said as he stood. He fully intended a short soak in the heated water before he crawled under the furs, hopefully with Maram cradled in his arms.

"I'd like to see a demonstration of your skills sometime. You know we dragon riders must train as well. It might be nice to spar with you some time."
Oh, now that would certainly send his foster brothers into the deep end of insanity. He could imagine their faces, watching Zorenh spar with the Weyrleader! There were times throughout his life that Zorenh had wanted to plant a fist in his father's face. Now, he could get the chance. Well, at least spar with him. He wasn't so sure anymore if the need for revenge was as hot as it had been. He fiddled with the piece of bread some more and then tossed it into his pocket to consume later.
"This has been an enjoyable meal."
With R'enh's attention diverted to Xanthe, Zorenh pocketed another piece of bread, too. If they noticed it missing, they would probably just chalk it up to a miscount or whomever it was that was taking all the things in the Weyr. He chuckled to himself. Now his small thefts would go unnoticed with such larger things taken by the unknown thief. He thought of the nice knife that he kept hidden and smiled.
"Sorry to break it up."
"It's okay," Zorenh said. He stood and stretched. "It's about time I get back anyway. My stepmom's probably ready to have her bunions scraped." He shuddered slightly. "It was nice meeting all of you." He grabbed his jacket and quickly exited the weyr. Forgotten, a pile of his other clothing still lay on the floor where he had changed.
End Zorenh
