Dragonrider Application
Name: N'la
Age: 21 Turns
Gender: Female
Sexual Preference: Homosexual
Rank: Wingrider
Physical Description N'la keeps her black hair cropped very short, her ice blue eyes particularly striking against her dusky skin tone. She has high cheekbones and a very lean 5'6” body that is subtly feminine. The curves are definitely there, but slight. N'la doesn't try to look like a man, but it would be very easy to mistake her for one from a distance. The fact that she carries herself like a roguish hero doesn't help.

Celebrity Name for Face Claim Enya
Character Personality: She is suave, polite but with a bit of a sarcastic streak, which can be biting when she's annoyed. Her natural confidence has been shaken by the recent disaster, and so she hides behind a false confidence, never letting anything phase her, refusing to appear weak or uncertain – which means she's never really let herself grieve for lost loved ones.
N'la loves to play dice and board games and enjoys a good drink. She has a tendancy to approach fighting Thread as a challenge, almost a game, which some of her fellow riders back at Fort thought indicated she was a bit crazy– but she fully recognizes the danger, and carries the scars of Threadscore along her right arm and shoulder. Whenever someone tells her how lucky she is that scars are the only damage, she just smiles.
Character Background: N'la was born in Fort Weyr. As a weyrbrat she was always a bit of what we would call a tomboy, and as she got older this developed into a more masculine attitude. She has always been comfortable with her sexuality, and no one was surprised to see her Impress a blue.
She proved to be a quick and avid learner - and then disaster struck. When the meteor fell, N'la put off abandoning her home for as long as possible, but eventually she had to admit that there was nothing she could do. They had to leave.
Her timing could not have been worse. Thread started to fall, and despite her skill a clump of Thread struck her. Fortunately, she went between fast enough so that no lasting damage was done, other than the scars.
Trying to view the future as a new challenge, a new game to win, she went to Dragon Weyr.

“It's not fair,” N'la muttered under her breath as she collected the last of her things, “rocks falling from the sky is cheating.”
She had the distinct impression that Aereth was rolling his eyes. Not everything in life is a game.
“Ha, says you.” N'la hesitated a moment after securing her belongings. They were really leaving. Running. She'd never run from anything in her life. She glanced around the weyr, almost searching for an excuse to stay...
Mine, Aereth was gentle, but firm, There is nothing we can do here.
N'la sighed. “I know. Shards, but I'm going to miss this place.” It was home. Her only home. And she was running away from it.
We will find a new place.
Chuckling, N'la rubbed her lifemate affectionately on the head. It often amazed her how calm he was about everything. No matter how he did it, she was grateful for it. “A new place, and a new game to play. Rocks may have taken this round... but the future is ours to win.”
Aereth sighed. Yes, mine.
