Brekka had butchered the beast laid out for Panitath and wiped her down after she tried to dive face first into the beasts innards.
She just shook her head at the memory. But finally her lifemate was asleep on her bed and Brekka had run to the hotspring just to take a few moments in the hot water. She still had chores but wanted the warmth to soak for as long as she could manage.
She stripped and laid her clothes on a shelf. Then she submerged and when she came back up she washed and submerged again.
Then she sat back on a ledge and closed her eyes slowly counting off the minutes before she had to start cleaning their little weyr.

“Come on, Mine! We should soak in the water!”
Heroth!
L’dron groaned mentally as his lifemate stampeded through the entrance to the communal hot springs. Yet…he couldn’t quite hold this against the young bronze… if L’dron was the dragon and Heroth the rider; the exact same type of thing would be happening. But that was why they were bonded. Perfect matches for minds that seemed so eerily similar. L’dron picked up the pace and ran after him, praying that Heroth wouldn’t crash into anyone like last time.
“Mine, Panitath’s is in my way! There is no room!”
Just as Heroth made his complaint known, L’dron came barreling into the hotspring’s cavern- noticing that Heroth was indeed correct. However, to his dismay, Brekka was completely indisposed…her clothing lying in neat little heaps on the shelves beside the pool of water. He hadn’t actually ever had a conversation with this woman…and had no idea how modest or embarrassed she would be in a situation like this. So, until he had a clue…he focused most of his attention on Heroth.
“Now do you understand why we don’t bathe dragons in the springs, dear? It was one thing when you were only four feet long.”, L’dron commented vocally for Brekka’s benefit. Turning, he cast an even glance on her, his dark eyes locked on hers. “I didn’t think that the first time you and I would meet outside of weyrling classes would be like this. However, it’s nice to see…erm…to speak with you, Brekka.”
Turning back to Heroth, he cast a silencing glare at his lifemate as Heroth’s laughter began to resound in his own mind. It was already awkward enough without laughing!

She lifted her head and opened her eyes when she heard the feet and claws and then the shout.
"Heroth!
The small bronze, she could still call him that but not for long, came bounding into the bathing cavern and looked like he was planning on leaping into the water. She held up her hands and turned her head expecting a splash.
Then she heard the scrabble of his feet and claws as he skidded to a stop. His came running right behind and she chuckled under her breath at the flare of his eyes as he realized her clothes were all on the shelves.
Brekka was a Weryrbrat and had always bathed this way from the time she was a small child. But she knew that the hold bred were sometimes quite self-conscious and didn't quite know how to handle it.
“Now do you understand why we don’t bathe dragons in the springs, dear? It was one thing when you were only four feet long.”,
She smiled at the love in L'dron's voice when he spoke to his lifemate. She felt exactly the same about Panitath even though her own beautiful girl was as dainty and fastidious as you could describe a dragon. Well, except when she was eating. But she would certainly never bolt down a corridor and leap into the hotspring.
His dark eyes locked with her blue ones. “I didn’t think that the first time you and I would meet outside of weyrling classes would be like this. However, it’s nice to see…erm…to speak with you, Brekka.”
She smiled softly and pulled her arms in sinking a little deeper into the pool of hot water. It really was different meeting like this rather than in class where they all concentrated on their learning. There wasn't much time there for socializing. There wasn't much time for socializing period, not until their dragons were significantly older.
When he turned back to his dragon she swam to the closer edge so that most of her was obscured by the edge of the pool and gripped the lip. "Nice to see you too L'dron." she said trying to mask her own jolt of nerves. It wasn't her state of undress but the knowledge that someday her Panitath would rise as all female dragons did, and… well Heroth was likely to give chase. Her size was a bit larger than the brown dragonets almost the size of the bronze though no where as big as the gold. That made L'dron suddenly quite interesting.
"Are you going to come in?" she asked softly, then turned her back to give him some privacy.

NOTE: Because My muse was a bit drained from writing and re-writing other characters in and out of my response, this reply kind of adds a 'mystery character' that decided to bathe for a few brief moments. I'm sorry it took me so long, Brekka. I should have done better.
"Nice to see you too L'dron."
Well at least she wasn’t about to be offended. A turn ago had L’dron been in this situation…he would have been skinned alive. Of course, a turn ago…L’dron was Landron…and he knew nothing of Weyr life.
After he returned his attention from his only half-serious glare at his lifemate, he noticed that Brekka had made her way over to the edge of the pool closest to him.
“Are you going to come in?”
He sure wanted to. What an interesting relationship they would have, being able to say that the first time they had a conversation- they had been naked. But the time was late, and the next day was their next weyrling class. Before he could respond to Brekka however, a female candidate entered into the cavern. Eerily, her eyes were trained on Heroth and himelf up until the moment she entered the water.
Ldronmine… why is she looking at us like that?
As unsettled as he was by being blatantly watched by a naked woman, he pushed it aside as he replied to Heroth. ’Don’t worry about it, Heroth. It’ll pass.’
And then, as soon as she had appeared, the girl disappeared. She muttered something about bathing Mnoranth. A big challenge for such a small figure.
Mine…I am sleepy. Can we go to bed now?
Laughing, L’dron turned to Heroth and affectionately rubbed his lifemate’s closest eye-ridge as he looked back to Brekka. “I would love to join you Brekka, and ease my sore muscles in the water, but it is apparently time for me and Heroth to retire for the evening. You and I do need to prepare for that second lesson in the morning. Would you like to walk with Heroth and myself to the barracks?” He would have loved to get to know his fellow weyrling a bit better…but between getting distracted by that strange girl and needing to rise early in the morning, it just was not meant to be this evening.
Smiling, he waited for a reply.

The other girl came in dipped in the water and then was gone almost before she could think.
“I would love to join you Brekka, and ease my sore muscles in the water, but it is apparently time for me and Heroth to retire for the evening. You and I do need to prepare for that second lesson in the morning. Would you like to walk with Heroth and myself to the barracks?”
She smiled back at him and nodded “Of course!” she said “I’m sure he’s exhausted, it’s been a long day.” She looked at the young bronze, he seemed to grow a handspan a day, no wonder he needed some rest.
“My Panitath already went to sleep that’s why I had a few minutes to spend and try to soak in the warmth a bit.”
She bit her lip then reached for a drying cloth and climbed out of the water drying as she went. He’d seemed a little embarrassed and she didn’t want to provoke any problems for his lifemate.
Brekka just wrapped herself in the cloth and picked up her clothes. Slipping her feet into her low shoes she figured she was ready for the short walk back.
She smiled and walked toward the pair and then the three of them left the bathing cavern for the weyrlings barraks.
End Brekka and L’dron by permission
ooc: no worries... we're off to class!
