OOC Note: This is a training for the Threadsbane Wing (K'rill, E'dwyn, L'yst, Roux, S'ren). This isn't mandatory, since I don't want to interrupt you if you're in a thread currently, but I'd like to see as many people as possible get a post in. Come get to know your wingmates!
***
It was a clear, sunny day, warm but with a hint of a cooling breeze in the air. In other words, the perfect day for a Wing training. B'lor would have held the training even in the rain, but he was glad that he didn't need to. Although he wouldn't let his riders know, he disliked training in bad weather just as much as everyone else.
Imahyth was still riding high from his win in Sivarith's Flight. The bronze's hide was shining and he practically radiated pride. Don't get a big head, Imahyth. We're in training mode now, B'lor told the bronze, grinning.
Who's getting a big head? Imahyth asked innocently. Snorting, he opened his voice to everyone in the Wing. Threadsbane Wing, we call you to training! he announced. They waited for the riders to arrive. Latecomers wouldn't be punished outright, but B'lor would find some way to embarrass them through the course of the training. He hoped that this would give the riders a chance to get to know each other better and develop some trust as well as skills.

Post by E'dwyn and Yzarth on Sept 20, 2010 2:47:39 GMT -5
E’dwyn had been dozing on his bed after oiling his brown Yzarth’s hide when a dragon’s bugle woke him up. “What’s going on?” he asked, getting up and walking over to where Yzarth was laying perched on the ledge he used to enter and exit the rider’s weyrroom. “Imahyth and his call us to a wing training,” Yzarth replied. “The weather is perfect for a flight at any rate, E’dwynmine,” he added, pushing his big head against his rider’s chest, nearly knocking him over.
E’dwyn smiled. Yzarth was practically begging to fly on a gorgeous day like this. “Alright, give me a minute to get my riding leathers on,” he said. Once he had his leathers on, he double checked Yzarth’s harness before climbing up onto the brown’s back. With a bugle of his own, the brown fell from the ledge and into the sky.
The pair found the wingleader and his bronze easily. Dragons knew each other a lot better than humans knew each other. Spotting the pair, Yzarth landed nearby. “Hey B’lor,” E’dwyn greeted his wingleader. Likewise, Yzarth greeted the wingleader's bronze.

Post by K'rill and Morisath on Sept 22, 2010 19:05:57 GMT -5
K'rill lifted his head from the piece of harness he was working over, and glanced up at Morisath, as the dragon relayed the message to him. He grunted, and replied with a simple, "Inform him that we will arrive, shortly."
He looked back down at the piece of harness, oiling it thoroughly, to make sure the leather wouldn't catch on his hide; He'd found a small callous underneath part of the harness, behind the right shoulder, where the harness had rubbed his hide raw.
When he finished, he stood, and slowly harnessed Morisath, careful to make sure things fell in the right places, and that the callous was padded.
He stepped back, and nodded to Morisath, who gave his wings a few hard flaps, making sure the harness didn't move or rub. The dragon landed, fully, and nodded, wordless.
K'rill moved quickly up onto his back, and assumed his usual position, strapping onto the harness. "Alright, Morisath. Let's go, then."
With a warning cry, Morisath lunged into the air, wings propelling him rapidly upward, far above the rest of the Weyr, before he simply spread his wings, and let gravity do the rest, slowly spiraling down to join the rest of the Wing.
'We are ready,' Morisath intonted, head raised, snorting, softly.

"Hello, E'dwyn," B'lor greeted the Brownrider. E'dwyn seemed nice, if a bit quiet. He seemed dependable, although there was no way to know that for sure until they worked together. It was definitely strange having to get to know everyone in his Wing.
Then Morisath and K'rill arrived, the brown spiraling down from the heights. "Greetings, K'rill," B'lor said, nodding at the Wingsecond. He waited a few more minutes as the other riders arrived. A few were out for legitimate excuses, including his other Wingsecond, T'nev, who was absent due to an injury that had occurred during a Sweep.
"Welcome, everyone. Today we're going to be practicing what to do in the event of a bad injury during Fall. First, though, I'd like to get introductions out of the way. Some of you may already know each other, but I want to make sure that we're all acquainted." He addressed all the riders, making eye contact with each one in turn. "I'll start. My name is B'lor, and this is Imahyth. I'm from Fort originally, but that no longer matters. We're all Dragon Weyr riders now." He finished and waited for the next rider to introduce himself.
