--- This EVENT thread means that a character can be in two places at once: In the main RP AND in the Event. --- Beyond tetchy, Roux beat a hasty retreat after tending to Radanth’s incessant demands during her bathing and oiling. No matter how Roux tried, she failed to satisfy Radanth. She scrubbed and oiled and then a complaint would come that she was too oiled and was to be scrubbed once more. At length the two were exasperated with one another and decided to separate in hopes that cooler heads would prevail. Roux sat in the hot springs relaxing after her bath in the luxurious warm water. Trying to clear her mind and restore some semblance of peace with in her. Meanwhile, Radanth was perched along the edge of the Weyr bowl, gazing up at the sky. The gleam of her jade hide making her glow radiantly in the sunlight. With a glance down at the bowl she let out a prurient bugle and launched herself into the sky. “Radanth,” Roux said aloud as a wave of lust hit her through their link causing her back to arch and her eyes to open wide. “Catch me if you dare,” Radanth called out to the males followed by another bugle of challenge as she rose lithely into the air. Roux rushed from the hot spring, throwing on a dressing gown and dashed to the flight room. She knew there was no point in taking care in her dress, since it would all come off rather quickly. Roux was more interested in catching a glimpse of her beloved rising into the air in all her glory before their link was complete and they became ‘Rouxdanth’ once again. Sivarith was up early, almost before dawn. She sensed the unease of the green and had been watching the development of her glowing hide. The great gold dragon prowled along the edge of the bowl, dipping her head up and down, side to side, waiting and watching. Sorelle still slept on, oblivious to Sivarith's actions.
Hours later, she heard Sorelle's call. "Radanth will Rise today," Sivarith returned. "I am sure of it."
"Come to me," Sorelle ordered. Sivarith shook her large head to the side. "I want to watch." The two argued for a good long time until Sorelle gave up. Sivarith was being more independent by the day and Sorelle blamed herself. In her efforts to find the mystery of the crimson dragons, she had been neglecting her lifemate, letting the Candidates tend to the Queen.
"I am sorry," Sorelle thought. "You know I love you." Sivarith grunted, sending love through the link in return. However, her eyes were focused on a spot of green that had appeared across the bowl, along the edge. "Radanth is here." Sivarith became more agitated, her eyes sweeping back and forth with every swing of her head and neck.

T’fon and Raarinth T'fon pelted into the flight room to stand with the others around the green rider. Raarinth had been adamant in his desire to chase this particular green. T'fon grinned when he saw the rider. She was beautiful. The bugle of the rising green hit him with a blast of desire and Raarinth leaped into the air after her. Her green hide glowed with health and beauty and he crooned as she flew swiftly away from them all. She was fast and graceful this one. But he was also fast. He dove inside one of her loops to try and catch her before the others could move in but she saw him just in time to use her agility against him. He crooned again. Beautiful Radanth he flipped around but lost ground against a big brown who cut between him and the lovely green beauty. T'fon dropped his hands to his sides as his consciousness merged with his dragon's. His wings strove to speed up and get around the brown that blocked his way. Tag Any

"What are you doing?" R'enh yelled as he ran toward the mouth of his weyr.
Mnoranth had dropped to the feeding ground and blooded first one and then another kill sucking them dry before he launched powerfully after little Radanth.
She rises, I will chase her growled the big bronze. She will tire and I will be there, I have done this before mine.
This wasn't what he wanted but this wasn't the first time for this argument and R'enh was very aware who won these arguments. Why oh why did Maram and Chalarath choose today to be out of the Weyr.
As it was he didn't have a choice. He took a deep breath and trotted down the ramp and then into the flight room to stand around the rider with the others.
He fought the flight lust but soon he was one with his dragon who had declared his intention of flying the green.
Mnoranth was big and strong and he flew high very quickly but not as quickly as the green. It was as if she was shot from a bow. her speed and agility very impressive.
Radanth he called to her.

Imahyth roared and launched himself out of his weyr. After flirting with Radanth at the lake that day, he didn't need any encouragement from B'lor to chase her. Beautiful Radanth, I chase![/color] he called to her, crooning. He raced after Radanth, speeding ahead. He wanted to fly fast, since he didn't have to conserve his energy in the same way he would in a Green Flight.
B'lor hurried to the Flight room. He was glad that Imahyth had decided to chase, since he certainly wouldn't remind a repeat of Chalarath's Flight with Roux. Imahyth didn't always chase greens but it seemed Radanth had won him over. He smiled at Roux. She looked hot, and it wasn't just Flight lust talking. He glanced at the other riders--a Bluerider and R'enh? He raised an eyebrow at the sight of the Weyrleader, but sometimes dragons got strange notions when it came to Flights. He turned back to Roux, and soon found himself absorbed in his dragon's emotions.

K'rill calmly centered himself, as he took a seat, slowly letting Morisath's anticipation wash over him in minor waves, the swell growing, breaking around the hard rock of his resolve.
"There's only one way you'll catch her."
'There's no way I won't.'
"You're the best Dragon in the air, color regardless; Don't forget that."
'You will have her Roux tonight.'
"And you, her Radanth."
He gave a small, private smile, closing his eyes, and let the emotions of the flight sweep over his body, as Morisath gathered himself for an upward lunge, angling his body to give the least resistance in a path straight up.
The green leapt aloft, Morisath not far behind.
The wiry Brown fought for altitude, shooting up like a comet, wings scooping big holes in the sky, sides heaving like a bellows, fanning the flames of his ardor.
On the ground below, K'rill was all but certain of the outcome.
No one could match his Morisath. 'No one,' the dragon echoed, his last coherent thought, swallowed up in the abyssal embrace of the Flight.

Post by J'lor and Tonuth on Sept 2, 2010 11:44:06 GMT -5
Tonuth leaped into the skies to follow the green dart of Radanth. He had won her before and could win her again. She was fast and glowed with health. Her green hide flashed in the bright sun as she turned.
Our Radanth flies well he said to his.
J'lor had been resting after drilling the weyrlings in ground formations and he awoke to find the flight already in progress. "What?" he asked. Radanth rises, I chase was the simple response.
He could feel the rising flight lust and groaned. He was confused by recent events and yet his 35+ years as a dragon rider told him what he needed.
He wanted to find Sorelle and seclude himself with her but he didn't have much time before he became one with Tonuth and his choice would be taken from him.
He loved his lifemate more than anything but his choice was sharding inconvenient.
I knew she was going to rise mine, haven't you seen the signs? "NO," he said with a chuckle. "I don't keep a list of the proddy greens in my head" Tonuth was normally rather choosy of who he chased and J'lor had to be honest with himself. He'd been quite friendly with Roux and that had opened the door.
Looking back over the last few days, he should have seen it. The greenrider had been showing the effects of her dragons condition.
He got up and started toward the flight room.

"Radanth is here."
"Behave yourself," Sorelle said, as she began to feel the agitation of Sivarith. Why was the gold even interested? Sivarith had seen many greens rise before, it wasn't like it was anything new. "What are you up to," she thought to the big gold.
"Just watching." There was a pause. "Tonuth." The way Sivarith added emphasis to the simple name spoke volumes to Sorelle. "You should be with his."
Sorelle shook her head and bolted to the edge of the weyr. She knew it would be useless to have Sivarith ask Tonuth where J'lor was, but if Tonuth was involved in the flight, she knew where he was headed.
"Need a ride, my Lady," a woman on a green asked. The dragon landed on the overhang and Sorelle smiled, "I need to get to the flight room." The woman laughed and nodded. "We all do. Come on." As they flew down, there were many other dragons in the air, heading in the same direction in a frenzy of wings and hormones.
As soon as they landed, Sorelle looked up in the sky to see a blur of browns and bronzes and a tiny speck of green. As she entered the flight room, she just missed seeing another color added to the mix.
Gold.
There was a gold in flight, rising with the males.
Inside, Sorelle looked around, turning in circles, trying to find J'lor. "Shards," she said quietly. As she turned again, she ran smack dab into R'enh.
"Not today," Sivarith bellowed as she rose upward.
"What," Sorelle asked out loud, almost into Renh's back. "Not today...what?"
Sivarith just grunted and continued her flight. Huge golden wings pushed at the air. She was not fast, but she was strong, and she had experience. Catching up to Tonuth, she swung her neck hard into his side. "Not today."

R’enh was almost one with his powerful lifemate as his powerful wings took him high into the skies above the weyr. Soon he was beyond the rising green and he turned back to catch the glowing green body coming closer as she looked back over her shoulders at the blues and browns.
R’enh dimly felt a flight moth bump into him. He didn’t try to grab her as he stood his ground near Roux arms starting to reach as Radanth got unsuspectingly closer to the giant bronze.
But then he saw “GOLD?” but that wasn’t… “No” his mind screamed as Mnoranth turned plummeted toward the golden queen. He’d almost had the green then turned to follow gold. Confused the bronze suddenly realized she was not rising!
He screamed his frustration as the green prize rocketed upward past him just out of his reach as he dove. He wrenched himself around but she was too fast and the others were now ahead of him.
But the valiant bronze wouldn’t give up and he flew after Radanth again while the gold thudded into Tonuth demanding he break off chase.

Tonuth’s chase of Radanth should not have come as a surprise for him but he just hadn’t even noticed the green’s signals. He’d been distracted or maybe preoccupied by Sorelle and his job with the weyrlings.
He felt the rush of flight lust and moved closer to Roux with the other riders. His mind merged with his big brown as he stroked the air chasing after the lively and beautiful green.
He smiled unconsciously; they’d seen that move before. He was there in the air with Tonuth, part of Tonuth as she swerved and avoided the plummeting bronze. But suddenly the voice of Sivarith bugled at him “Not Today!”
No dragon on the face of Pern will disobey a gold but Tonuth/J’lor was deep into the chase and he screamed his defiance back
Then she slammed into his side with her command. “Not today.” He braked to a stop mid-air disoriented and hovering. J’lor slammed back into his own body the flight lust slightly abated as though he had just lost the flight. Which he indeed had at the insistence of the gold.
Then the brown rider’s burning eyes scraped the room for the moths and unbelievably there was Sorelle. He stumbled toward her grabbing her arm and dragging her toward one of the rooms.
Meanwhile, Tonuth spiraled down out of the skies and back toward the Weyr.

Post by E'dwyn and Yzarth on Sept 4, 2010 2:23:52 GMT -5
E'dwyn had been talking with his sister when he heard it. The bugle of a rising female, calling out to the males that would chase her. At that sound, Yzarth took to the skies, having blooded a couple herdbeasts beforehand. "Radanth rises," E'dwyn said to his sister. He had to take his leave of her before the dragon lust took him, least it get taken out on her. One day her gold would rise and then...he didn't want to think on it.
As he headed toward the flight room, he could hear his brown calling out niceties to Radanth in an attempt to win her favor. "Good luck, Yzarth," E'dwyn thought. He'd need it. Greens were notoriously picky about who they let catch them. E'dwyn took a second to see who all was chasing the green by which riders were in the room. He spied Roux, of course, among the riders in the room and seemed drawn to her as the lust rose from Yzarth chasing her Radanth. He fought the urge to go over to her, wanting to see how things unfolded with the chase.
Yzarth flew into the skies, having to dodge a gold queen as she pushed another brown down from the chase. "Not today," she told him. Yzarth recognized the brown as Tonuth, an older brown than himself. He called out to the green above him.
"Radanth, you rise. I, Yzarth, give chase."

Post by Roux and Radanth on Sept 4, 2010 10:57:01 GMT -5
Radanth flew acrobatically through the air, taking twists and turns around her suitors, climbing to new heights and then spiraling down only to quickly dart back away. Roux had caught a glimpse of her lovely girl showing off her aerial abilities before she moved inside the flight room to take her place.
Soon she could sense the presence of the riders around her. Her years of experience made her aware of them, but it was too late for her to consciously look to see who they might be. Roux had relinquished her willpower and joined with her lifemate as she soared lithely and filled with lust, high above the Weyr. Free, they were free!
The males called to her, flattering, coaxing and boasting. Roux|Radanth was rapturous in their singular endeavor. Oh, how she wanted to be caught, but not yet! She would fly until her wings ached and only then would she choose.
Growing brazen and playful, she doubled back on herself in an attempt to tangle up her pursuers. Nimbly darting between them and then jetting off in the opposite direction.
It was then that she caught site of Sivarith. The green glowered at the gold who invaded her flight. This was her time to fly! Altering her course she dove at the gold, a loud screech in vexed protest. Inside the flight room, Roux turned toward Sorelle and shrieked at her, mirroring her dragon’s unbridled frustration.
Her ire made her falter. A dark shadow came overhead. As she glanced up, she caught site of the belly of a brown. “No,” they shouted in unison. Twisting, she narrowly escaped, her hide brushing against his, as she climbed once again. Only when she was ready, not before.
The effort to get away was sapping her energy and she could feel her wings begin to tire. Glancing back she surveyed her pursuers. Who among them was worthy of her?

Sivarith arched her body in flight as Tonuth hovered nearby, seemingly confused. Suddenly, the green was there, screeching at the huge golden dragon. Sivarith turned and coiled back her neck, opening her great set of jaws and let loose a primal sound in return.
Sorelle whipped her arm out of J'lor's grasp and whirled around, facing Roux, whose anger was aimed directly at her. She knew what was happening was totally out of Roux's control, yet she was prepared to defend herself should the need arise. However, Roux settled down, obviously distracted by something else that was happening in the skies.
"What have you done," she asked Sivarith.
"Tonuth is not Radanth's."
At the mention of the large brown, Sorelle turned and saw the heat in J'lor's eyes. He would not be denied much longer or he would seek it elsewhere.
"J'lor is not Roux's, either," Sorelle thought.
Sivarith chuckled. "You can thank me later."
Grabbing J'lor by the front of his shirt, Sorelle pulled him into a room.

K'rill gave a shout of joy, his eyes rolled back in his head, focused intently on the sensations coursing through the dragon's body; The rush of air over his scales, over his wings; He gave a bright laugh, caught up in the pure adrenaline joy of the chase.
Having barely overshot Radanth, Morisath tucked his wings against his body, and dove after her, echoing his rider's joy with a ringing bellow.

Imahyth saw a flash of Gold out of the corner of his eye and he turned, confused, to see what was going on. Why was there a Gold here? He forgot Radanth for the moment and flew towards Sivarith, rumbling in puzzlement when he sensed that she was not rising, just flying. Then Sivarith slammed into Tonuth, forcing him out of the air. Imahyth was at a loss about what was going on, so he decided to ignore the Gold, something he would never do in any other circumstance.
Growling to himself about the time lost in his confusion, he sped after Radanth. She was a tricky little thing, darting around the air and slipping in between the males. Imahyth was not built for such maneuvers, so he just flew, following Radanth as best he could without copying her complicated movements.
He saw a brown encroaching on her and roared. No mere brown was going to take his prize! Fortunately Radanth deftly eluded her captor. He continued to climb after her, still feeling energetic.
