Character Personality: E'dwyn can be very standoffish and aloof at times. He does care about his friends and family though and will defend them if they are threatened. E'dwyn has a fierce sense of loyalty as well.
Character Background: E'dwyn, born Eadwyn of Peyton Hold, was the only son of the Hold lord. As such, he was pretty much spoiled from the start. Still, he somehow managed to keep out of the drama politics brought with it into the family. He even skipped a few of his lessons - as his father called them - to work on his true passion, sword fighting. Even though he wanted it to stay secret from his parents, a training accident earned him a long scar on his back. After that, Eadwyn was 'forbidden' from taking part in the training, so his mother - who was way overprotective of her only son - said.
Eadwyn was to be the next Hold lord after his father passed on but fate had a different task for him. At seventeen, he was searched and taken as a candidate to the Ista Weyr for Impression. Eadwyn didn't mind giving up his position as heir, though his dad wanted him to stay. Eadwyn finally convinced him that he wanted nothing to do with politics and his dad relented, giving him permission to leave with the search dragon. What he minded was leaving behind his sister, Ceinwen, whom he had been close with as they grew up despite being five years her senior.
Impression day came, bringing with it the humming of the older dragons and the excitement of seeing the new dragonets burst from their eggs onto the hot sands. One by one the eggs hatched, each dragonet impressing to its rider in turn. Seeing all the others impress their soul mates, Eadwyn couldn't help but feel left out as the dragonets by passed him one by one. He started to think he would be left on the sands this time. That is until he felt something wet and slimy nose his hand.
When he looked, he saw the dragonet, a dark brown-black mottled color from being still wet from the egg fluids, looking up at him with eyes that could only be described as loving and hungry and asking him for food. The dragon's thoughts inside his own took him a minute to comprehend but as he did, he realized this little brown - which just so happened to be the last egg to hatch, surprisingly - was his.
Days and nights seemed to blend together for the next few months as the dragonet, called Yzarth, grew, feeding ravenously for what seemed like an eternity before he didn't have to be fed in the middle of the night anymore and E'dwyn could sleep through the night after the long days of classes, chores and time taking care of and bonding with his dragon.
After becoming a senior wyerling as it was called, E'dwyn and Yzarth, now a big dragon that dwarfed with he once was, were recruited into one of the wings. E'dwyn was there at the Sands when Chalarath's Clutch hatched, Yzarth among the dragons humming their welcome to the newest hatchlings. He looked on as his own sister Impressed the gold queen in the clutch, ecstatic of her impressing one of the higher dragons.
