Just wanted to start a place for our members to post any suggestions or comments you have for the site.

We like to hear what our members think. Many times changes we make or create are based on the comments we hear from all of you. Not all comments or suggestions can be carried out, but we will listen for sure!

Even if you have ideas for something plot wise you would like to see happen in the RP, just let us know.

Two options: You can post your comments/suggestions here or you can PM the admin account if you'd prefer to not have your ideas out for all to read!

We want to work with you all to make this the best site it can be!!

I thought it would be a good idea to have a list of roleplayers, and which characters they own. For example, I have both B'lor and Lorcan. So the list would look like this:

B'lor-
Wingsecond B'lor
Weyrbrat Lorcan

and so on for each player.

This really is a good suggestion and I would welcome those who wish to do this. But we won't be making it mandatory.

While on the surface this seems innocuous. It is one of the reasons for the one character per account rule.

First, and I'm taking these in no particular order. People tend to play with people they know. It isn't particularly odd it's just a way of rp. But we have a whole new crop of players here and I can't begin to tell you how wonderful that is. I know I want to RP with each and every one of you but how can I do that if you can see me coming. (I say this with a big grin on my face)

Second, Big and small characters have a different 'presence' on the board and people respond to them differently. If you know who is writing a character either through prior knowledge of the writer or by sleuthing you react to them differently if you know the person writing them is an admin.

Then there is the person who doesn't care and wants to put it all out there for everyone to see. This is great too!!! So, basically what I'd like to see is for people to put this in the list voluntarily and only if they want to share the information.

Understanding... we know.... we the admins' know who play's whom.

I'm looking forward to the future of this board. We're off to a great start and you all share in that.

Just a quick update on a few things we've heard as suggestions so far:

First, the list that B'lor and R'enh were discussing has been created, but is completely voluntary.

Second, we've received a few other suggestions and questions via PM and I wanted to make everyone aware of them.

---The question of riders being able to get pregnant -- We've addressed this in the Pern Info Board.

---Regarding Candidates the suggestion has been made that candidates give some input into their dragons before hatching, either by choosing a name, or some character traits or both. We like this idea and will be working out the details and posing them up soon. But know that if you have a candidate, you will have some say in your dragon

---Finally, we've had a suggestion to look into adding Whers to the site. We are going to do just that. Look into the idea and decide if and how they will fit in. We'll post up information once we've decided on things.

Oh! I was wondering because I didn't see a page on it (or maybe I missed it ;o; ) but are you going to try to use a mark system here? Or, given the situation the characters are in, are marks really necessary and would anyone actually have them on themselves? I've seen some sites use marks based on posting activity, some as contest prizes, some are just a static figure added each "week", and some just seem random~ X3

I just wanted to know what other people thought of it! I don't know if it would be appropriate or not, seeing that Pern has basically gone to hell and back, and they might need to make a new (similar) system all together, or would they just eventually bring marks back when they have everything settled down?

Interesting suggestion Terrin. I'm guessing we probably won't use marks within the RPing itself for awhile as everyone will be helping everyone just to survive. I have seen some other sites that use marks somehow as a reward and allow members to purchase things with them. I'm not sure how that works. I'll do some research and discuss it with my fellow admin.

I'm sure that within character RP, some people might still expect Marks for payment now, but most will be more into trading objects until Hold, Weyr, and Halls are back on their feet.

Great idea. If you know any more about how sites use the Marks as rewards, please let us know, either through here or PM. Cause right now I can't imagine how it works.

Possible plot idea for after the Hatching: We're in the South, and in the books there are felines crawling all over the continent. (in Red Star Rising, 2 riders are attacked by felines). Maybe there could be a feline attack, either in the Weyr or Hold, then a subsequent hunt for felines.
