Maram and Gold Chalarath Character Scroll Basic Facts:Age: 27 Birthdate: Birthplace: Igen Hold Parents: Mother - Fosterer Tainya; Father - Journeyman Tailer Patery Searched: At age 19 Impressed: At age 19 Original Weyr Home: Igen Weyr New Position at Dragon Weyr: Weyrwoman Backstory: Maram had been working in the craft of Tailoring when she was searched. Her time at Igen Weyr was pleasant for the most part, though she did not always agree with the Weyrwoman, Weyrleader and even many of the sometimes uppity Bronze dragons. Neither Maram nor Chalarath had found a suitable permanent mate while at Igen. Each flight had led to another attempt to find one whom they could at least tolerate. Early Plot - Search for a New Home Posting Tracker Links will be updated when threads are moved to archivesAnd So It BeginsPlanning for a new home Summary of Important Events- Maram leaves Igen Weyr and finds temporary safety on the far shores of Benden Lands.
- Maram meets R'enh, bronzerider from Benden Weyr.
- Maram and R'enh coordinate the efforts to get all the now displaced riders/holders/crafters to a new home on an island believed to exist in the middle of the sea.
- Maram starts to develop a friendship with retired Benden Weyrwoman Sorelle, who is struggling with the loss of her Weyrmate.
- Maram meets many other riders and people.
- Maram and Chalarath detect another Golddragon somewhere nearby...the Weyrwoman of Ista -- Tael and Gold Ralianth, who was rescued by Darvin and is in a comatose state.
- Once R'enh confirms the first jump /between/ Maram helps organize everyone to arrive safely on the island, large enough to house them temporarily, but not large enough to build a new home on.
- After giving everyone one night to rest, Maram sets about to help get everyone back on their feet. She learns of the many wounded and injured from the healer Alira.
- But most distressing of all is the sheen on Chalarath's golden hide. She is nearing her time to rise, yet there are so many uncertainties, so many things that could go wrong. Maram is worried.
- With that worry, and R'enh noting the golden dragon's color, the group decides to press onward sooner, rather than later, for they hope to reach their new home before Chalarath begins to rise.
