Alternate 7th Pass
“I was always told to welcome people kindly and to accept strangers. Be nice to elders, and don’t judge a book by its cover, it could surprise you.
However, how is someone supposed to react to the 7 foot creatures that landed on Pern one day? How was I supposed to react to the monsters that they brought with them that were beyond the wildest images of my imagination? How was I supposed to react when they began to hunt dragons and humans alike?
I reacted as many of the others did-- in fear. We had to kill them before they kill us.”
The 7th interval on Pern was a peaceful one until one day large ships appeared in the sky. From those ships came creatures beyond the Pernese’s wildest dreams. Tall aliens walked off of those ships, along with nearly 100 of their alien dragons, where the smallest was almost twice the size of a Queen. They were strangers to Pern, and not welcome by the population. However, bad went to worst as the week after they arrived progressed.
“The monsters came out at me from nowhere. There were suddenly hundreds of wings in the air, their large creatures swooping down on human and beast alike, devouring us as they rose back into the sky to circle about again. We hid in our homes, thinking we were safe, but their humanoid riders came down next and feasted upon flesh… I’ll never forget that day… I’ll never forget…”
The Holds near the alien landing were no longer safe, and thus people began to travel away, from the aliens, seeking shelter in the Weyrs. However, as time edged on, and the Holds upon which the creatures used as food were empty, they Vyfairen and their dragons, the Xaitu, began to stretch farther and farther from their landing area until they arrived at the Weyrs…
“What are those creatures, they’re nearly as large as our Xaitu! One of those… One of those could feed nearly five or six of ours. We’ve found our place, Edril, a place that can support us, a place to call home…”
The Weyrs were attacked, and soon a war began between the aliens, their creatures, and the Pernese. The smiths began to create armour set out to protect the dragons, and attacks became more and more frequent.
Estonei Weyr is the old Benden Weyr. All of the Pernese, those that have survived the year of attacks, have managed to make their way to the Weyr, and two of the Holds near it, Bitra and Benden. Attacks from the Aliens are less frequent than they used to be, but there is still much to do. Slowly the Pernese have been making their way towards Nerat Hold, ready to use it as a place to grow their food, and to hide from the monsters.
With their backs against the wall, how will the Pernese survive? Finally at their new home, how will the Vyfairen (the aliens) react with the Pernese if ever they become civil? What will happen next in Pern’s coming new chapter?
We need you to help us decide.
Well, now that I’ve got the horrible advertisement out of the way… My apologies for it! I promise that we’re much more entertaining in person. =)

Almost all the ranks are open, and you can play as a Pernese, Alien, or Alien Dragon. At some point in the future, the Pernese Dragons will also be their own playable characters. So come on in, enjoy a nice cup of tea/cocoa/coffee/water/soda, and chat.
