With the seventh pass of the red star rapidly approaching the people of Pern began once more to prepare for the return of thread. The holders cleared the greenery from their holds, the smiths began the serious production of flamethrowers, the harpers reinforced the teachings of what to do when thread fell and what the owed the dragon riders who protected them. The Riders themselves seemed calm and collected to the rest of the world, but within their lofty weyrs they too were a hive of activity. The Queens rose more often, producing larger clutches more frequently as their population began the inevitable expansion to cope with the threat which was soon to be upon them. Their seemed to be more golden eggs upon the sands as well, as if the queens knew there would be a need for more of themselves.
A young benden queen rider, barely out of weyrlinghood and dissatisfied with the way the leadership treated its people, set out on her own, determined to found a weyr where things would be different, where people, no matter what colour they rode or how they appeared would be accepted. A place where those who didn't quite fit in could not just live, but truly call a home.
Settling in a large impact crater on the tip of the Nerat Peninsula, Cordella and Rajirith slowly but surely drew others to their cause. Their numbers slowly grew and some few short months after leaving Benden, Rajirith rose for her first mating flight. She was caught was bronze Siriuth leaving the leadership of the weyr in the hands of the inexperienced Cordella and the younger and only slightly less inexperienced R'las.
The political landscape is tough and physical landscape tougher still. For those who've joined the misfit weyr, things are sure to get interesting.
With Rajirith having Risen there is a clutching and a hatching on the way. There are sure to be some interesting babies on the way including the administration guaranteed appearance of the first of our unique dragon colours.
There are many positions available for play including 3 bronze rider positions. Candidates of all Ages as well as members of all crafts are highly welcomed.
