Weyrling Application
Name: L'ryn (Lyryn)
Age: 16 turns
Gender: male
Sexual Preference: bisexual
Rank weyrling (bluerider)
Weyrling Information
Current Living Location Dragon Weyr
Physical Description Lyryn isn’t an average guy. He’s very slim, almost to the point of being frail. His long hair reaches almost to his waist and is a deep blood red. He normally has it left free and laying on his back or over his shoulders. The only exception to this is when he’s working. Then it is tied back into a long ponytail. Though sometimes he wears it in messy braids, but this doesn't happen very often as it is very time consuming. His eyes are of a yellowish green color, sometimes lightening to an avocado green.
The clothes that Lyryn wears are mostly of his own design. Any designs on the various blues, whites and blacks that he wears are of his design with a little help from the master weavers to make them able to be placed into the fabric. Of course he is only a journeyman weaver so he does make mistakes sometimes. But he does try to keep everything neat and have any mistakes not shown in the final design.
As far as scarring and all is concerned, he does have a few nicks and cuts here or there on his hands from needle pricks and such. But most of these nicks and cuts are faint enough that they aren’t seen. One that is seen, however, is a scar he recently got at Impression when a dragonet knocked him down. This is a long cut on his abdomen, a wound that is still healing. He does look like he hasn't slept a lot though. This is partly due to his being plagued by nightmares on a regular basis. He has one at least once or twice a week.

Celebrity Name for Face Claim Bartek Borowiec
Character Personality: Lyryn is very reserved. He tends to not talk to many people and prefers to keep to himself. He's also not much for tradition, and a certain family tradition helped him to be as reserved as he is. Though rather reserved, Lyryn doesn't know the meaning of fear. Sure he has felt it before but he never let it stop him. He is a risk taker. Be very careful if you back him into a corner. He can't stand it when people do this.
This is where his temperament comes into play. He has a temper but rarely ever shows it. Really it takes a lot to get him mad enough to fight anyone. But most of the time he's quiet. As said, he keeps to himself mostly, only convening with friends and family. Lyryn tends to take whatever life throws at him in stride. Plague wipes out his family? Whatever. Nobody wants him around? So? He doesn't really care what others think of him. Let them think what they want he says. He's noted for always saying the phrase "Like I care" when things seem to be bad around him.
Character Background: A cry rose to the sky. It was the cry of a rising female green dragon named Neth. A blue male by the name of Vuhath rose to chase her. This drew their riders together on that fateful day. But in the throws of dragon lust, Ny’is and Miyra made a mistake. That mistake would later become their first son, Lyryn.
Later on, when Lyryn was only two turns old, they had a second son, Nydar. Nydar and Lyryn hardly looked like brothers. Lyryn had hair of a deep red, while Nydar’s hair was black. That stood to say that Lyryn took after his mother, being she had red hair while his father had black. Still the two were close growing up and they grew even closer when their mother’s dragon passed away. They were never told what really happened.
From an early age, Lyryn showed remarkable talent in weaving. But that talent didn’t really develop until his parents, who had decided to stay together after Miyra had realized that she had been pregnant, sent him to the craft halls to train his talent when he was twelve. They knew that one day he might be searched as a rider, considering he was hold born. Nydar stayed with their parents.
Three months after he was searched, the time came that the Gold queen Chalarath laid her clutch of eggs. Soon after that, as many had done before him, he stood on the Burning Sands for Impression. One of the eggs hatched, the fifth in succession, revealing a blue dragonet that ended up catching his wing with a back claw. The dragonet called out to Lyryn and Lyryn became L'ryn in that instant.
While caring for his dragonet, another dragonet knocked him down, tearing open a shallow gash on his abdomen.

A large shadow approached the ledge of a rider's weyr. Avoreth, a small Blue dragon, landed on the ledge of his rider's weyr room. Now he knew that L’ryn didn't like being interrupted when he was napping, which he tended to do in this heat. But that didn't stop the jokster dragon from bugging him. "L’ryn? .....L’ryn?" the dragon's mindvoice called out to his rider. The sleeping form on the bed barely moved. Avoreth saw this as a challenge. He nudged the bed ever so gently - for a dragon anyway. This "gentle nudge" rocked the bed, waking up the rider that lay in it.
L’ryn woke with a start. Oh sure, he knew it was his dragon playing with him again, but it never ceased to startle him when Avoreth nudged the bed. "Avoreth!" he said, sitting up to glare at the dragon. Avoreth wasn't a weyrling any more but he sure acted like it sometimes. "Better have a good reason for nearly giving me a heart attack.....again!" the dark haired rider telepathically sent to his dragon. Normally they talked in their minds to one another.
"Sure I do," Avoreth sent back. "You're always sleeping if we aren't flying. I thought we could go somewhere!" "Oh boy, are you ever a hyper dragon," L’ryn told him. "Fine, fine, we'll go somewhere. Been meaning to visit my family anyway." "Alright!" Shaking his head, L’ryn got up to get dressed in his riding gear. Within minutes, he was climbing atop the dragon and Avoreth took off towards the Ista Hold, L’ryn's birthplace.
