Gender:Male
Sexual Preference: heterosexual
Rank Bronzerider Weyrling
Candidate Information
Current Living Location Before the tragedies that washed across the planet hit, Landron lived in Ista Hold, yet now lives in Dragon Weyr after being rescued and searched in the same day.
Color Preference
Bronze or Brown OR Crimson
Landron would be overjoyed to impress any dragon that is male. [he’s not too thrilled about the concept of impressing a female…due to his heterosexual preference]That, And I don’t want to get his hopes up for a coveted bronze.
Preferred Name after Impression L’dron
Physical Description Landron has a sturdy 6’1” figure of any typical Journeyman Fisher, his skin darkened from all the years he has dedicated to harvesting the wealth and bounty that the sea has to offer. In addition to that resulting side affect from his lifestyle, this man of twenty turns has well-sculpted, muscular arms and torso developed from hauling endless net-fulls of fish into the deck of the ship. Also, Landron walks with a slightly wider stance than the typical Pernesian: he has grown so accustomed to having sea-legs that it has integrated itself into his everyday life- even when he is land-bound for weeks or months.
As far as his facial features are concerned, Landron has matching deep espresso eyes and hair, both of which are often mistaken to be black at first glance. His dark hair is about three inches long, often worn in whatever fashion it is when he wakes due to the fact that he’s given up trying to control the resulting mane of hair when he gets back from the sea’s abusive and battering winds. And this young man also tends to have eyes similar to that of a dragon’s due to how they lighten and darken based off of his mood. The more dismal the day, or higher his irritations become, the darker they become. Conversely, the better his day gets, the closer to shades of amber his eyes reach.

Celebrity Name for Face ClaimChristian Bale
Character Personality:
He lives in a world of possibilities where he sees all sorts of challenges to be surmounted, and wants to be the one responsible for surmounting them. His drive for leadership is well-served by his quickness to grasp complexities, ability to absorb a large amount of impersonal information, and his quick and decisive judgments. He is every bit a "take charge" individual.
He is constantly scanning the environment for potential problems which he can turn into solutions. He generally sees things from a long-range perspective, and is usually successful at identifying plans to turn problems around. He’s tireless in his efforts on the job, and driven to visualize where the pack is headed.
There is not much room for error in the eyes of Landron. He HATES seeing mistakes repeated, and has no patience with inefficiency. He also has a tendency to become quite harsh when his patience is tried in these respects, because he isn’t naturally tuned in to other's feelings, and doesn’t believe that he should tailor his judgment in consideration of them. He has difficulty seeing things from outside his own perspective. He also has little patience with people who do not see things the same way as him, yet tries to consciously work on recognizing the value of other's opinions, as well as the value of being sensitive towards their feelings.
Although he isn’t naturally tuned into other's feelings, he has very strong sentimental streaks. Innerly if he begins caring for another, they will mean the world to him, although he will likely hide it from general knowledge initially out of embarrassment.
He also loves to interact with others. Very much an extrovert, he is energized and stimulated primarily externally. There's nothing more enjoyable and satisfying for him than having a lively, challenging conversation. He especially respects those who are able to stand up to him, and argue persuasively for their own point of view. There aren't too many people who will do so, and Landron is thrilled and impressed whenever it happens.
Although he has shortcomings whenever it comes to his amount of patience with ignorance, once he is able to get over his frustration and take a step back to assess the situation, he is tireless in his quest to make the it a positive one. He puts himself out there and gives 200 percent in these efforts…because at the end of the day all he really wants is the best for everyone. It’s just difficult for him to embrace vastly different ideas and he will rarely admit that another opinion than his is a better one at first. With the right guidance however, he will be able to become more accepting of these things.
As for Landron’s moral fiber, he is as true as you can find. Children and small animals are a weakness for him, more often-than-not catching the attention of other young women with his gentle displays when he focuses on them. Firelizards have always intrigued and amazed him…yet being a fisherman, he has never come across the opportunity to stand at a hatching. Dragons have also been something that has been a wonder to him. While others of Hold and Craft shy away from the presence of the creatures, Landron has always felt gravitated towards them, barely batting an eye if a dragon and rider were a bit too close for comfort by normal standards.
Continuing on with his morals, Landron despises lies and deceit, seeing it as a way to cover up ignorance and stupidity. If any person were to want to get in a brawl with the young man, all they would need to do was allow him to catch them in a web of lies. Landron would be furious.
Lastly, Landron will do just about anything to protect innocents: be it friend, stranger, women, or child… he would never stand for injustice.
Character Background:
Landron was born twenty turns ago to a long line of Master-fishers. For more than four generations, every male in his family had followed the long life-dedication of learning the fishing-craft, from apprentice to Journeyman, and finally the accomplishment of Master. He was born an only son to his mother Janalee, and father Halum. His mother was the Head Cook for Ista Hold; she would love to come up with new recipes for all the fish that her dear Halum and Landron would bring back, as it fueled her creative juices and kept the hold folk satisfied without complaints. In addition to Landron, Janalee and Halum had three other children, all girls. Kisa, the eldest child, was a turn older than Landron and dedicated her life to healer-work. It was her dream to become a Master Healer. The other two girls were twins, four turns younger than their big brother. Leena and Syana chose to each follow the paths of their parents; Leena starting apprenticeship under her mother to follow in her culinary footsteps, while Syana answered the call of the sea, deciding to apprentice with her father and elder brother.
Landron loved spending long days with his father on their family’s main vessel, the warm sun on his back and the wind in his hair. Once Syana was old enough to join them, and he had finally reached the rank of Journeyman he spent a great majority of his time teaching her what he had only learned a few turns prior. It was in those past turns that Landron grew the closest to Syana, becoming extremely protective of her. He was her confidant, and she was his closest friend. They never meant to hurt Leena…but more often than not, she spent many evenings alone by the fireplace, never fully understanding the fishing banter. So over the turns the twin-bond the two sisters had was slowly twisted and stretched, each girl turning towards the parent whos trade they were studying.
Then the meteor struck Pern, ripping their lives apart. How ironic was it that the first victim of the sicknesses that followed in Ista Hold was Landron’s dear sister, Kisa? Dear Kisa…who only dreamed of being able to heal the sick, comfort the dying, and bring new life into the world by aiding births. She fought the illness valiantly for three days before succumbing to it. The hopeful master healer died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 21, leaving behind devastated parents and three terrified siblings. Landron couldn’t believe it. Kisa…who had been there his entire life…and had planned on it being so for a much longer time than what was reality. Landron’s mother couldn’t seem to go on without all of her children, and locked herself in her quarters. Landron and the rest of the family had to pull together, doing their best to support each other with the loss of Kisa and Janalee’s depression.
Nothing could have prepared them for what came next.
While Landron and his father went out to sea to get away from their misery, Syana stayed ashore to consol Leena, not sure how her sister would take being left on her own for the day. The catch was fantastic, and the first smile in a week played upon his face and his father’s as they threw beautiful redfin aboard, glistening in the bright sunlight. Perhaps this is what Janalee needed to see to make her remember the rest of her loving family. It was a good day for the two men, filled with talk and work that was good for both of their spirits. However, when it was time to head back to port…that good feeling from the day’s activities had completely vanished.
There was no dock left, or much of the stony hold that had housed them for turns: the quakes that had rocked the mainland had finally hit the island, tearing apart Ista Hold, leveling it to nothing…specifically the area where Landron’s little sisters were. Before either Landron or his father were able to react, a brown dragon and rider came out of |between| right above their ship, beckoned to get as many survivors to Dragon hold and Weyr as they could. Halum refused to accept, and forced his only son to step up and escape from the hell that had consumed their island home.
He’s been in Dragon Weyr ever since, once the brown dragon informed his rider that Landron should be a candidate on the ride back.

Landron and his father stood together on the deck of Dragonsflame proudly gazing at the crate of wriggling redfin, their bright red scales glistening in the dimming light as the day came to a close. Looking over at his father, Landron reached a tanned arm over to the older man’s shoulder, giving him a silent expression of approval of the haul. Halom had other plans though, and at Landron’s first touch gruffly drew his son into a masculine embrace.
They had been through so much, with the loss of Kisa… and both men had needed this excursion to try to deal with the grief. For the first time, with his father’s arms around him, Landron allowed himself to cry…the reality of never seeing his elder sister again in this life nearly drowning him.
‘Why did it have to be her?? ‘ he thought inwardly to himself as he tightened his grip on Halom. It just wasn’t right. She could have done so much for the world… and now she wasn’t ever going to be able to do another kind-hearted thing for anyone ever again. Why was life so cruel??? Landron felt hot tears stream down his face, the strong sea-breeze quickly turning the sensation from warm to cold. But he paid no mind. The only thing that mattered to him at the moment was his father, Halom.
After long moments of both men being much more emotional than any traditional Pernese man would have it, Landron felt his father pull away, and the older man placed both his hands firmly on the son he was so proud of.
“We’re going to be alright, son. We just have to pull through! Can you do that for me?”, he asked obviously needing to see signs that his son would be alright, as worry was cast thickly over his features.
“Yes sir…I’ll pull through for us, father. I promise. I just need to accept that Kisa is really gone…”, Landron muttered miserably, trying his best to sound as dignified as possible as he fought the tears back. If only it was that easy… “We should probably head back to Mother, Syana, and Leena though.”, he said, changing the topic as quickly as he could. No good would come from basking in this misery. “Besides, we don’t want those redfin beauties to spoil.” He added at the last minute, making it obvious that he wasn’t comfortable with the current topic as he stepped away from his father.
Halom watched his son’s reaction sadly as Landron stepped away from him and busied himself with raising the anchor. Opening his mouth as if to say something, he stopped at the very last moment, shut his mouth, and turned to prepare the ship to set sail.
