Celebrity Name for Face Claim: Nicola Peltz
Character Personality: Kellin is a lover of knowledge. Kellin could spend hours in her mind just thinking, and days in a book learning something new. When she came to the Weyr, she was incredibly enthusiastic to learn as much as she could to prepare for her duty ahead of her. She stayed up late for several weeks reading books and just thinking about the things she learn earlier that day. When Kellin received her dragon, she spend long nights talking to Apolloth about nearly everything. While Apolloth was a good listener, he wasn't much for intellectual conversation.
Aside from her desire to learn and joy of dreaming, Kellin knows her boundaries and the ones she is not allowed to cross. Kellin would love to do anything, but knows when it is wrong to do so. There have been several times, Tauren has tried to convince Kellin to do crazy things that are, mostlikely, not allowed, and Kellin was stubborn enough not to cave to Tauren's pressure.
Character Background: Kellin was brought up in a large family of Lemos Hold. In her immediate family, Kellin had 3 brothers and sisters and her mother. Her father had died when she was 2. In their household, Kellin's aunt and uncle from her mother's side also lived. Her aunt and uncle had two kids of their own. So Kel'in was use to sharing.
Kellin's family wasn't the best off. Her mother had no trade and spend all of her time at home with the kids. The source of their income came from Kellin's aunt and uncle. They were craftsmen and sold their wares in the market and traveling merchants. They grew the food they could, and what they couldn't they tried to buy at the market or trade with the neighboring households. So Kellin understood how to do without.
When Kellin was twelve-turns-old, riders came to their hold. Much to anyone's surprise, Kellin and her fourteen-year-old brother, Tauren were chosen by riders. Tauren accepted full-heartedly. It took Kellin a while to way the options and take her answer. She accepted.
For the next five years, she was trained in the Benden Weyr with her brother. A year ago, Kellin received her dragon and became a Weyrling. He was named Apolloth. For a while, Kellin's brother, Tauren had been upset Kel, his younger sister, had gotten a dragon before her, but, soon, Tauren accepted it.
When the Destruction happened, Kellin and Taurin stuck close. They run with the other riders to the island away from the devistation of the Destruction. Now, they house together in the new Weyr.
Dragon
Dragon name: Apolloth
Dragon color & appearance: Blue -- Apolloth is a much smaller than average blue dragon. He's a deep, dark blue, much like the night sky on a full moon. Because of this solid dark color, he's difficult to see in the dark.
Dragon age: 4 mo
Dragon personality: While Kellin is reserved and knowledgable, Apolloth is headstrong and stubborn. He enjoys being pleasured in life, and he's no afraid to fight everything in his path to get the things he wants. Often considered selfish, Apolloth isn't easily liked.
Roleplay Sample:
Upon the back of Apolloth, Kellin hiked through the forest. Where Apolloth was still too young to fly, he'd come to a nice right age for her to ride on his back while he walked everwhere. It was a couple months ago when Kellin noticed he was about the size of a horse in the shoulders, so she started riding him, she put a layer of thick blankets over his scales and rode him. At first, it was only occasionally, but now-a-days, him being about the side of a house, Kellin rode him almost every chance she could.
Finally, Kellin came to a open in the trees. It was a large feild of golden grass. Just over head, Kellin could see the setting sun shine over the tree tops. As Kellin scanned the grass, she caught sight of her brother, laying. As she approached on Apolloth, he didn't move. He was asleep. How long had he waited for me? Kellin thought.
Apolloth lowered his head and sniffed Tauren. At that moment, Tauren opened his eyes. To the shock of seeing Apolloth, Tauren jumped and screamed.
Although Kellin fought it, she burst into a laughter. She heard Tauren yell at her about something, but she didn't hear what. When she finally finished laughing, she smiled down at her brother.
"You should have seen your face!" She covered her mouth to keep from laughing again.
"Get off your dragon, so we can start," Tauren said in an unamused voice as he turned and walked away.
Kellin rolled her eyes. She grabbed her practice sword, a wooden stick that Tauren had crafted into the shape of a sword, and slid down the side of her dragon to the ground. She approached Tauren, who bent down and picked up his own sword. They got into position and took defensive stances.
